Tim Burton Roleplay?
So, If you aren't very aware of whom Tim Burton is. He's a former artist, currently a Film direacter whos work is very creepy. Dark, Sinister and down right bone-chilling. Every scene looks painted in ghastly colours and every charecter is over the top and very fiendish.
What I want to try and incorperate in some form, Maybe in Cataclysm. Is a more naive version of Rp. For example, Not every Towns person would know of magic, or rather. Many wouldn't have seen it. Theirs whispers of hauntings, folklore. Even accusations of Black magic use. Gilneas might be perfect for this. As the people seem alot more closed off and alien to the current World.
I've heard some good things about Duskwood aswell. And I'm wondering, Would anyone be interested in Rping with my Worgen warlock when Cata hits. Or with my naive little girl in Darkshire at the mioment.
Maybe even get some citizens together, a villager project. May-beh?

I'm a bit confused as to why "Not every Towns person would know of magic, or rather. Many wouldn't have seen it" tbh..
Clarifying: even the cut-off areas, still had magic back before their cutting off. It's a world where magic is as common as walking. I like the concept you thought of, as a concept, I just don't see it realistically implemented in any storyline unless you roleplay the primary species that walked the soil of Azeroth thousands of years ago, before even Trolls and Night Elves and such. They might not have used magic (and still it'd be extreme to suddenly "find" someone after all those millenia). Anything after that, knows of magic.

I've had enough of Tim Burton in the outside world, I'll go nuts if he creeps into WoW.

Magic isn't as common as it looks to be.
In Warcraft 2, for example, you had to get third (final) tech level to even hire mages & paladins; Same for orcs and their magic.
And what does it have to do with Tim Burton anyway?

To me, Tim Burton is mostly about visual design and aesthetics. You might find it hard to reach any kind of depth if you want to mimic that with in a world with a set artistic design such as WoW.
You could always try though, don't see any harm in it. The setup should be the least of your problems(location, background etc). ^^

Well, after watching Alice in the Wonderland; Stormwind on DB actually makes less sense than that Wonderland. xD
Or at least it did when I still played (Was it...4? 6? 8 months?)

Actually, Nayan. Magic is very common, but dark magic, not so much.
I am of course refering to wat Vect here said.
"Haunting" etc, such things, is always creepy. And dark magic, shadow magic, sinister stuff, will always not be so common for that villager fellah.
Just because -we- are "heroes" of Azeroth wrestling with demons, bitch slapping Kil'jaeden and kicking Lich Kings off cliffs, doesnt meant the ordinary townman would be so used!
Just my view.

Re: Tim Burton Roleplay?
Tim burton was simply the only way I could genuinely describe it. Gothic, Might be abit more clear.
A much darker type of Rp. Bit of Darkshire and Gilneas.
Somewhere you could imagine a Witch suspect being burned. And forigners treated diffrently. ...Bit like the small villages in England. But without the incest and traditional dancing.
I experimented with this sort of RP last night. I made a level one female human. Dragged her to Darkshire, convinced a few citizen Rpers. I was lost far from home. Asked if they escort me to safety. ..Once I was far away from town. I assaulted them both, Attempted to choke one. Went to cut his throat, before his partner jumped in, Saved him and ultimately saw the demise of my alt in a blaze of astral essence and banshee like screams. Even added alittle folk lore about Duskwood fell to the shadows due to a man cheating on his lover.

Indeed. Maybe if Gilneas has a nice little villages in it. We could possibly do something with it, Also. I feel your chaos bolt pain. Though. I'm a Forsaken lock. So we technically are to quick off the bat for any foe.
