Tauren Roleplay

Evening folks. i'l try and be brief.

my question in this thread is essentially, who out there has a tauren character they like to play (or potentially would like to), but is restricted in the fact that few/no Tauren RP guilds exist that are extremely active. furthermore i'm curious as to if anyone has any input on how to give a much needed booster shot to this under representd area of Racial RP on DB. as you may have guessed, i'm getting a strange yearning to play a 500 pound walking side of beed.

we need more cows!

I expect that we'll see a sharp spike in activity when the Paladins and (to a lesser degree) Priests get rolled out in the Cataclysm pre-patch, thus that would likely be the best time to sort out these kind of things. As to whether people will remain active on them, or get Death Knight Syndrome is another story..

It's just game mechanics. Tauren paladins technically aren't Paladins from an ic viewpoint, they don't worship the Light like human or dwarf paladins do, but Blizzard couldn't make a race specific class.

Sun Walkers are their IC title, much like "blood knight" is for Blood elves. if you've done the quest in dalaran leading to thunderbluff and lsiten to the conversation between the tauren female and tauren druid in the druids rise, youl see it does make wonderful sense. and tbh, i'm extremely tempted to make a good attempt at it myself.

Hrm.. I'm curious though.. Sun Walkers, allright... But do they get their 'gifts' from the Earth Mother, or is it the Light?

The earth mother has two eyes, the moon and the sun as far as I know.

The Light, but not 'The Holy Light'.

Essentially, there is the only The Light & The Shadow - It is based around how a person uses their faith to call upon either of those powers. A Priestess of Elune is still using The Light as a Knight of the Silver Hand however they worship it through Elune and not The HOLY Light.

It's the same with Sunwalkers. They will worship An'she, and use The Light as a result and thus why they have the same abilities as paladins.

potentially would like to play a tauren shaman or warrior.
as to boost? maybe seeing a view tauren roleplayers about rping may make those with tauren alts dust them of?

The 'Cowladins' got 'mooved' by the lore, so they became 'udderly' set on grazing the fields of holy light. And yes, I'm having an extra lame sense of humour atm.

I have a plan for maybe starting a tauren priestess in Cata. It would be after a while though, when all the levelling has been done, and I have got the basic gear. Then we'll see how busy SGE will be, and then I can start roleplaying her. Won't put much effort into levelling her though, it will be purely a RP character

I don't mind the fact that we can have a Tauren beliving in the Sun, get power from it. It's even very fitting. But still.... What set the Tauren will get ? Something Knight like, nothing tribal at all and then it will look stupid.
What spell will have the Tauren ? Not "Sun fury",or anything alike, but it will stay paladin spells...

Now, a good role player can always find some trick to make it fit. It's not a real problem. But admit with me, that to see a big Tauren in a silver armor, casting his Knightlike bless buff, and lashing his Crusader strike or whatever it's called, or even more fun... A Big Tauren 'on bloodlust) popping his wings...it will look a bit funcky, no ? :p Atleast we will have a good laugh

I concur with this. It's all well and good that blizzard can come up with a lore justification for tauren paladins (and to a lesser extent, tauren priests). I seriously doubt that we'll see any effort to actually make them mesh smoothly with the native american theme that tauren have though. If anyone really do want to RP a tauren paladin or priest, then I would expect a lot of them to make up for that. (Same with orc mages).

The reason im considering a tauren pala.

ohh i concur on the fact they dont get their own spells, but then again... it would be a mundo confusing pain in the buttocks to rename everything and/or make a whole new class for one race.

and yes, They Worship the sun.

Always wanted to play and RP a shaman, would turn my now unplayed shammy in to one if there was more tauren activity.

I'm torn between levelling a Tauren Warrior or a Forsaken Hunter!!

So far I'm leaning towards the chewbacca side!

i've got a druid i plan on leveling in cata,tried that RP leveling with a couple of others a while back,but that didn't go well
But if someone's planning some tauren RP,give me a poke!
