Re: The vent thread
-.- I heard about it when I was in the UK but I just checked the newspapers here ... out of the 50 seats in parliaments, there are only 3 liberals, the rest are all Islamists. No women got in this time round either, down from the extraordinary 4 or 5 last year.
Allegedly, those Islamist MP's sold off Kuwaiti nationalities to their Saudi tribesmen, who came into the country and voted for them. Apparently there was a total of 31,000 alleged "sold" nationalities, which is a lot considering our voting population of about ~350,000.
The Islamists have already starting carrying out their silly little shenanigans too. They've already canceled a lot of our liberation day celebrations because they deemed them indecent and now they're trying to change a clause in our constitution from:
"The Sharia is one of the pillars of law."
to ....
"The Sharia is the pillar of law."
Oh joy ... good times soon to come!!!!!

Does your Sultan/Emir/dictator in a robe have a veto, Shaelyssa? He might be a safeguard. But that really sucks. Islamists, bah, bah, bah. I feel for ya.

Won't happen, Muz ... Kuwait isn't like Syria or Libya or Egypt. People here are rich, and people are (morally) poor. Civil liberties can be sold off very easily with government benefits and handouts.
And Anti lol ... our amir has already dissolved parliament three times this year already.

I'm so tired... My mother isn't helping my mood either. Constantly nagging about what I did last night. God, I just want to rest before I have to do my assignments.

You obviously do not know her. She doesn't shut up. It's like a cross examination sometimes.
Kristeas Sunbinder wrote:Tell her the things that make her go "I don't want to hear more"
I'd never hear the end of it.
But hey, I'm in my apartment now and she's faaaaaaar away, thank god.

I tend to talk until she asks me to shut up. It works best, since after a few months she won't bother asking you anymore!
Try it!
