I found a mod for L4D2 for playable witches.

Number three was "our" version, as in the one me and my friends played. This weekend we were in a nostalgic mood and played another game, and it ended up being ridiculously epic and lasting troughout pretty much the entire weekend. It was great stuff, everybody minding their own business on their individual laptops and one ever few minutes or so doing a turn on the "Big" PC (connected to the television). It got particularily exciting when two players duked it out with eachother, and the two other non-combatants dropped their individual games/film/book to watch the battles play out.
What castle I was playing, you ask?
Dungeon.
Always Dungeon.
I had nearly forgotten how much I loved the turn based strategy game genre. It just has something special to share one computer in hotseat mode and fight these magically powered chess matches with lightning bolts and dragons. And my dragons, being of the black kind, and my magical bolts, being of the fiery kind, ending up winning! In case anyone was wondering, Rampart came in second, Castle in third, and Fortress dead last.
Good times.
Great game, but Tower's where it's at!

Oh hi there, those are nice top tier troops you've got there on second week.. It'd be a shame if something like my Gorgons happened to them.
Nah all factions are good and have valid tactics, but Conflux and Necros are the most OP of all.
I think my time spent playing MMORPGS pales in comparison to HOMM2 and 3.

Re: The "other game thread"
The great thing about HoMM was that you could be competetive with most castles. I never got around to play a lot with the expansions, so I wouldn't know anything about Conflux, but by Velen's whiskers, Necropolis can be nasty indeed.
But to be perfectly honest I just played Dungeon because of eyebeams, harpies, and friggin' minotaurs. I've played my fair share of Tower also though, that's a close second for me, and I guess if I'll have to make a top three out of it I'll just smack Stronghold on there, because I feel like it's the most underappreciated, and I quite enjoy playing the underdogs.

Conflux is generally considered the best one, since you get 4 phoenix every week and although their stats are generally lower than other t7 units, they're the fastest in the game so not only can you get the first hit on the enemy's t7, you also get the mass spell of your choice or armageddon in first every fight.
That said the balance is even enough for it not to matter, the better player (or the person who's luckiest on the map) usually wins.

I've been giving Starferer a try, some people like to label it as "space mount and blade". Seems to have quite the learning curve anyway. Early alpha though but I have found it fun so far.

After sitting on a Tribes: Acent Beta Key for a few weeks without my laptop. I finaly got it back yesterday, so I tried it out today.
And Daaaaamn! That was fun. I haven't had this much fun in an FPS since I was fifteen or something.
From my fourty minutes of playing, that game is fantastic and will suck up a lot of my time if I let it.

The game is brilliant.
Been playing for two months now and I usually do few games almost every day, very rare for me that a FPS (with only 5 maps atm) can keep intrest this well.

Contemplating if i should buy some credits to unlock the sentinel class with the better prim. weapon, or just bite down and grind.
And, having to aim, and actually calculate in a "Hmm, that guy -should- land ... THERE!" *fires* "YES!"
That is just. Awesome.

Mass effect 3 spoiler, don't read if you don't want to be spoiled of a potential plot:
EDIT:
Hah, found this video from Totalbiscuit. Spoiler in it perhaps as it's part of the topic but still a more indepth rant about it:
- Spoiler:
- So yeah, they announced that unless you're getting that CE edition, you have to pay DLC price for ten dollers more or such if you want to have a Prothean team mate. I'm sure I don't need to state the importance to those familiar with the Mass effect titles on how important Protheans are themselves to the story and the fact there is going to be a living breathing prothean only availible through DLC or paying extra is a bit stupid? -_-

EA has, sadly, been evil for far longer than Activision. The latter have only been far louder the last five years.Lyniath wrote:I don't remember EA being so retarded and evil.

And, I can't help but feel that TB has a very big point with this. Seriously... And I want that fucking game! >:

Yeah, but it's blatant, bond evil now. I imagine the head of EA as living with a tank of piranhas and a rocket volcano lair. They've always been "that greedy company", but now its like...
"Do you expect me to talk?"
"No, Mister Bond, I expect you to buy absurd amounts of extra content that is necessary for the story at a huge expense to yourself!"

You do know that the entire reason DLC like that exists, is because there is a big demand for it and people willing to pay the price?
Companies are not charities people. Get over it.

The demand exist, but tbh, that's the reason for the -price-.
Sadly gamers are HORRIBLE fucking consumers and will pay for anything without thinking.
The reason the DLC exists is the reason TB states in the video. It's a way for producers and developsers to get money on reselling of their titles. Which is a bigger crock in the marker all together.
(Pirates are not in this case, since they just download all the DLCs)

I'm going to put forward my opinion which differs from this, the demand really doesn't exist. Post-release DLC? Please. The time period in which this DLC would be bought and downloaded people should and will be playing through the game. The demand for DLC doesn't exist (or barely) until you are finished with the game but crave for more. This is when DLC should come into play, feeding from the demand and prolonging the games lifespan on a platform without modding.
Now pre-release DLC is one thing, I won't go too much into it on its own other than some argue that it is generally content cut from the game, some believe it's created whilst games go through processing and checks and the art/systems teams have nothing to do. What I do think is in these cases you can argue for or against the possibility of it being cut from the game. Nobody can usually tell or be sure of it as 9/10 it's only costumes, weapons or side-quest material. This however is an integral part to the Mass Effect storyline. It's not just some companion pet in WoW, it's taking a main character out of the game and making it exclusive to Collector edition copies of the game or probably bought at a later day as paid DLC.
Now this right here, pre-release DLC that matters, there is absolutely no demand for Nithel. This is exploiting your market and pretty soon, they will have enough and move on to a different company. Bioware is really on shaky terms in my books as it is, with DA2, SWtoR and now this.. and EA, they might aswell be the devil.
I don't usually care for what TB has to say, he's an arrogant prick, his fans are morons and a lot of the time he's so obviously biased but on this matter, he's totally right.
