Plant a tree day in Quel'thalas
We are going to need all volunteers who are willing to help us in our attempt to heal the land and plant some trees and flowers into the barren land that reminds us about the invasion in Quel'thalas. Time has passed and Silvermoon has been rebuilt and the elves have lived on. Now it is the time to take care of our lands.
Come and plant a tree for the ones you lost in the dire times of our past. We are also going to purge the land with the power of Belore. I have also asked aid from the druids and shamans who know how to heal the earth.
Time: Saturday 27th of August at 18-20
Place: Dead scar, Eversong woods
Who can join: Who ever wants to show some love to our lands. Sin'dorei can contact Jaedarthu and all those druids and shamans and other environmentalists who want to help can contact Hilula.
See ya there. We will provide the trees and shovels but of course all the contributions for the cause are welcomed.

If only this didn't clash with the return of Doctor Who. Does sound like an interesting event, certainly a unique one compared to the stuff that appears here.
Alas, I'll be away from the computer getting my geek on at this time. But I hope it goes well!

Tsk Tsk, inviting lesser under-beings to medle in the business of the proud Sin'Dorei ^^ .....but perhaps their bodies will be used as a fertilizer for the new trees?

Too bad Sin'dorei have not taken interest in druidism nor shamanism and we want all the possible help for the cause.

Sad hypocrasy coming from the Sin'dorei.... Given their predecessors as classed as "lessers" ... As well as their predescessors well... Predescessors... Remember Sin'dorei. If it weren't for those same lessers you'd currently be all by yourselves in Quel'Thalas... Just waiting for the next force to come along and wipe you out.
Also Sylvina, the Farstriders have deep connections with the land. Can't remember if it borders Druidism or Shamanism, but there have been record of Sin'dorei that have studied Druidism. Just the mana tapping self destructive premise of the games barbie race won't allow such a class to come to par. Good work on including the Druids and Shammies though. Wise move for authenticity aswell as an IC relations. Showing that the Sin'dorei welcome the help of all others.
Take no notice of the remnants of the past and keep up the work.

Not to bust bubbles of a fun event. But wouldn't it be a bit of a futile effort? *points to the quest where naturestuding mages comes up with the conclution that the dead scar is very much a dead scar*

Re: Plant a tree day in Quel'thalas
I never said that our efforts will suddenly turn dead scar into a blooming forrest. But if nothing was ever done because someone has said it to be impossible then it would be quite a sad world. Think about all those people who try to live as green life as possible and still our world gets more and more polluted every day. Then again apprentice Mirveda did some tests and made her conclusion. Was that apprentice really having all the powers of druids and shamans in her use or did she just make a hasty conclusion. I mean druids in Firelands nowadays can make a barren land bloom and grow huge trees into a pit of lava.
I made an environmentalist event because I liked the idea of planting trees to be something fun for idle blood elves and others spending 24/7 in Wayfarers moaning of nothing to do. This is an opportunity for roleplay and not a try to change the world. I know very well that the dead scar will remain a dead scar in our maps after saturday and only one who can actually heal the dead scar is Blizzard.

Volcanic soil, I believe it's quite liked by plants. And I suppose that tree is as natural as anything else grown in eversong.
I'm guessing at a possible, slow, healing starting at Quel'danas and then moving south. But maybe the Ghostlands "fuel" the scar.

Re: Plant a tree day in Quel'thalas
Well, two cents here. The Queltline in Quel'Thalas is outdated. Alot has changed since TBC and new powers have came to par. There has been attempts at cleansing the dead scar in the past ingame (Questline reference) but given at the time the birth of the Sin'dorei had only really just came into play. They were still and I use this term knowing the amount of ways people will take it "Weak" as opposed to other long standing races. Sin'dorei were able to rebuild their city after it was wiped out after the scourge. At thatt they managed to survive the scourge itself (Granted they were not yet Sin'dorei) but surely on an Ic basis for the Older Sin'dorei that premise of giving it a try should still remain.
The outcome of it all might be that the event completely fails and thetrees die out immediatly. But I applaud Sylvi for trying to bring something new int othe drudgery that is SMC RP.

Don't get me wrong, I don't atack the event and ooc effort behind it, and surely all the participants will have fun there. Yet ICly there is no way my character will be supportive to this.
--------------------
From the other point of view, we see the most of flora and fauna in Eversong woods to be magicaly altered, the trees having white bark and golden leaves, even the treants being modified. Most of the wildlife contains crystals in their flesh making them docile to the masters of the lands.
The elves of Quel Thalas are no amateurs when it come to manipulation of with the wild life, however their way is definitely more close to the arcane based "science", then atuning themselves to some sort of emerald something.

Re: Plant a tree day in Quel'thalas
Didn't the Wildhammers and Quel'dorei totally bro it out over loving nature?
That said, I don't think alot of Sin'dorei views nature like a druid would, even if they could use druid spells, they'll still be stupid botanists. You just don't care about how nature is as much as you care how to make it more to your taste!
I can see my own character being appalled by how much your twisted your lands with magic. Oh yes I can see his rage when he's telling you to just let nature be... but he's Kaldorei, and I don't think they're invited. I could totally cameo and pop Orb and tranquility for the visuals if you want me too!

I love Weird Al.
And how are we anyone's bitch for 10k years? Tyrande is not a dictator, she's just a little passionate when it comes to leading the sentinels.. and killing Orcs.
Besides, the time you lot spent with us before we mercifully and gracefully exiled instead of just slaughtering you on the spot (Like we should've!!), you were our bitches!

You'd only recognise a highborn if they flaunted their magic in your face, that's how they hid so easily amongst you.Drefurion wrote:I love Weird Al.

We have no problems with Highbornes, just with using arcane. So we're cool with them as long as they don't flaunt their magic in our face!
