I meant when a mission was accomplished, that's what I miss, having to actually tell someone I did it. Instead of a message "YOU DID IT, YOU GOT THIS, DISMISS MESSAGE"

I've figured out one thing so far: Warriors are the opposite from WoW. They're borderline OP <.<

Surprised myself, I really enjoyed the grass people (not even going to attempt to spell them)
I thought I'd hate them. I am going to love this I can tell >_<

I was sceptical too, but simply seeing their various faces and other customizations were great. Sylvari btw.

Arrrr! I'm playing in the american realms for the beta but I suggest to get together on one realm for RP when it goes live. I suggest EU Underworld. A mate said that that's the pretty much the strongest EU realm so far. And I do believe the overflow will stop once the game goes live.
My ID thingy is Icetorn.7041 so add me maybe?

There are already servers choosen by a large rp community to be the inofficial rp server, so I rather go where I know rpers will gather, than a server everyone gather. :O

2h Sword, Bola and Frenzy? ;p Have to say I'm finding it really hard to stick with my choise to have a Guardian as main the longer I play a warrior. Simply the sole fact that ranged is an actual valid option for them makes me giddy.Mikasa wrote:I've figured out one thing so far: Warriors are the opposite from WoW. They're borderline OP <.<
Progressed a Sylvari a little up the White Stag storyline (Level 17ish) and I'm finding that the story is actually fairly interesting, especially Caithe, who really seems a step above the Blandy-McBblandingtons the other races have. Still doesn't hold a candle to The Secret World and (certain) tOR class stories, but it's enjoyable.

Re: Guild Wars 2
As stated. There is a big Roleplaying community that have already put up two servers. One EU and one US for roleplaying.Atheramis/Chezz wrote:Arrrr! I much rather roll there than a server where there is everything. Since that'll mean more people who go "what" and more who might potentially disturb.
Yes, might do better in WvW. But WvW will be to some degrees be ballanced.
And Flo, my situation is the oposite. First I was "Meh" about Guardians. Tried over this weekend and find them tons of fun and might roll that as main/first alt instead of Warrior.
And that realm is on page 56 or 57. Piken Square.
If that realm is removed before launch it is subject to change.

Petrified Forest for Launch? Where?
Only see Piken Square now.
Before this Beta Event it was PF, but ANet removed that server since they had twice the amount before.

The ranged warrior is pretty insane as well. Rangah, my arena partner, crit someone for 11k, so yeah, if they don't tweak that, it'll be pretty absurd.

My gaming experience until now:
"WEEEH, I'M A WALKING TREE!! WHO WANTS MY SEED?"
"OH MAH GAWD, I'M SO ADORABLE. SNARK SNARK!"
"YEA, THIS GUY IS WHAT BRIDLINGTON SHOULD LOOK LIKE!! REAVER-WEAVER POWAH!"
As you can see, I couldn't care in the slightest about statistics.

Well I read on GW2 official forums they removed servers just to give the beta testers less choices, thus WvW would be more efficient, and that they'd expand their servers again at launch. I believe that's what it said, atleast.
So I figured that PF was the inofficial launch server, and piken the beta one. /shrug

Have you tried the signet skills and the skill from MM that lets your active bonuses to pets effect you too while using that as one ultimate skill?
GW2 hunter class I talk of ofc.

Re: Guild Wars 2
I am so excited for this game, it has so much potential and promise.
Each beta improved so much (and yes I know it was suppose to but allow me to explain).
Quite often in beta's I find that people claim about certain areas of a game and each beta only those areas are really 'improved.' Whereas with GW2, if something was complained about not only would they sort out that aspect they also had enough resources to sort out multiple problems at the same time and add in more features to make the game fun.
In 2 betas the game has gone through leaps and bounds.
I never thought there would be any way to make WvW more fun but somehow they managed to exceed my expectations and improve on the formula every beta. I am so impressed. The current rendition of WvW is a blast. Me and 2 friends held a fort against a small army for 3 hours straight just by tactically using siege weapons and timing our combos. All 3 of us had a cc skill and would freeze them in place. We all leveled 4 times by just defending that area and made tons of karma.
Only leveling 4 times doesn't sound like much but since I didn't expect much exp at all it was brilliant.

"Earlier in the development of Guild Wars 2 we released our MMO Manifesto video, a high-level look at the philosophy behind the design of the game. As we approach the launch date, now is the perfect time to talk about the outcome of that design philosophy with a look at the core ideas that the game is built on: personal story, dynamic events, combat, and PvP."

4 small vids of say 2-3 mins about dynamic events, personal story, combat and PvP ( a fifth for WvWvW is under way)
They're -very very- confident about their game, as if they're truly living up to the hype-train standards.

Guild ideas for Guild Wars II:
Sylvari-orientated role play
-My idea was to set up a guild of kinds that could possibly function as the greatest (IC) authority after the Pale Tree herself. Originally lead by Secondborn, it should have a core of four Sylvari, each from another cycle. From there, the guild will be divided amongst the four cycles, per definition allowing the members to develop according to their cycle.
-My second idea was to set up a second Nightmare Court of kinds, depending upon the number of role players. It would be a strict hierarchy, with an inner circle, set on disturbing anything related to what the sylvari and the other races are trying to build.
Asura-orientated role play
-I had an idea to set up a body similar to the Arcane Council, essentially run by three asura, each from another college. The ranks will be divided according to the three colleges, and its members will (willingly) be put together in krewes.
Human-orientated role play
-You guessed it, a nobles guild. The concept is pretty self-explanatory.
-Perhaps a more appealing idea is to set up a political guild, focussed on both politics in Kryta and those abroad. Mostly run by clerks and senators, I've yet to think of the hierarchy of this guild. Needless to say, a slight interest for politics is essential, even if you're playing a lowly clerk.
-Then comes the idea for an industrial-styled guild. Oh, yes, there's a lot of industry about, and somebody selfish enough has to claim it all for himself. My idea was to set up a guild, with a strong council, and all those employed by the company. One minor issue is that providing role play to everybody can be quite a challenge, and quite demanding.
-My final idea was to set up a guard, perhaps even one of the three existing guards in the game, depending on the tolerance of the community. This guard will be based on either a military hierarchy or a hierarchy desired by the members. It will operate mostly in Divinity's Reach, and in rare cases the remainder of Kryta, heavily depending upon the background of the guild (read: Seraph and other organisations).
EDIT: It might be handy to ask for a seperate forum on these forums to organise role play!

I know this isn't the same deal, since this game is probably going to succeed but... their level of confidence reminds me a lot of Warhammer Online.
"THIS GONNA BE AMAAAAAZIN MAAAAN" and most people bought into that, then it was absolute wank.
Still, I reckon this'll be a different story. One that I'm unfortunately going to be leaving alone until Christmas'ish I would think.

@Ledgic: Aye it's what been surprising me in the past and present: their confidence.
@Lorainne: What about a Krytan house. A Lord who's ex-Ministry Guard and thus he forces (or atleast strongly wishes for) his sons (perhaps daughters too) into the Ministry Guard too (be it an actual guard or spy, administration etc), because he's still fond/loyal with the Ministry Guard and deems the order very important.
Around it you'd still have the household etc. Perhaps the Lord (and perhaps the lady too) is a minister in his old days. You'd get alot of politics, guard and household RP.
I dunno, this just sprung to mind after reading your post, hehe
(The House could even have ties with the industry! (Edit: Minister of Industry!))
