For those interested, here's two grand videos about the pros of GW2. I haven't found any cons, so yeah, I won't be listing any videos containing such.

I'm in this huge dillema. To watch the spoilers or to not watch the spoilers...Awesome to see all the positive reactions anyways.

I figured the opening zone wasn't too much to ruin any surprise. In any case, they only got to about level 4, briefly ran through some quests, more just to show a feel for the area and race, and now moved on to Charr.
Only real problem atm, and this is minor, is that the voices for norn don't sound very nordic. And thats me being picky

Maybe they're not meant to be stereotypical nordic. :>

They're called 'Norn' and not Nord. This isn't Skyrim, go back to your singleplayer RPG bollocks! *Shakes fist*

They live in snowy mountains, they are big muscly humans, they live in very nordic looking locales, and they're called NORn.
They're clearly meant to be the viking race in GW2, and I'm just a little annoyed that they sound american. But it's nothing gamebreaking

Just watch some 'feature' videos, and ignore the more important videos. It's true, they spoil quite a few things, but even then... not enough to spoil your game experience!

I have to say... this game does look pretty awesome. Haven't had interest in any other MMO for a long time now. May well have to get this one.

I am definately getting it. I played a bit of GW1, and it was awful, but this looks damn good. Does anyone know if you can preorder it yet ?

I don't get the chance to ignore or dislike it with my brother around, spreading this vile propaganda about video games.

I played Guild Wars longer than I ever did WoW, more seriously, too. There are changes here I like, changes I dislike, and I'll probably preorder it shortly before release, because playing an MMO when everyone is learning how to play, is easily the most hilarious time to do so.

There's only one thing that I don't like about this game, and it's the lack of mounts.

Re: Guild Wars 2
Oh, by the way.
Features we already have:
Multi-guild membership - as far as I'm concerned this is a major plus point for the game and it definitely facilitates RP. Now we can be part of multiple RP groups as well as belonging to non-RP guilds for the times we just want to play the game normally. It's a win-win!
Ability to move between servers without paying - although the method for this hasn't been clarified yet, the ability to move between servers with relative ease may help if the community designates an 'unofficial' roleplay server.
Advanced character customisation - it's not finished yet, but it's looking like we'll have a lot of options for customing our characters to look exactly like the RP characters stored in our heads. The devs have also been listening to and considering suggestions such as the ability to choose eye colour separately from the face presets.
The living, breathing world - between night/day progression, dynamic events constantly changing the maps and the expansive persistence of the world, Tyria is looking like a brilliant starting point for spontaneous as well as pre-planned RP.
Socially-designed cities - with stages, gathering areas, taverns, marketplaces etc. offer a variety of environments which can inspire roleplay.
Walking - which has been promised pretty much based on the requests of roleplayers.
Player housing - which is scheduled to be implemented post-release.
Town clothes - perfect for non-combat, casual roleplay.

I said to myself when TOR was coming, that - that - was the game for me. Really and truly did i mean it and commit i did. Until i realised that it was pants.
Now, i realise it is hard not to be excited about GW2, and god would know i was lying if i didn't want to say the same paragraphs i did when TOR came, but i think i shall get the game, but not place WOW out of mind. GW2 and the panda expansion are being released roughly the same time. So.
Kay sera sera.
p.s. Completely looking forwards to it and will definately RP!! Necromancer time!!

From everything I know GW2 is still planned to be a Q2 release this year.Shakiri wrote:I said to myself when TOR was coming, that - that - was the game for me. Really and truly did i mean it and commit i did. Until i realised that it was pants.

Pandas won't come until late Q3 at the earliest.
