I'm a great fan of both the Colbert Report and the Daily Show. I got a huge amount of respect for both Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert. Mostly because they do good things every now and then (and provide me with a lot of laughs). Jon pushed for the passing of the Zadroga Bill on his show for example. That's a bill to cover health costs for 1st aid responders who rushed in to help the wounded on 9/11. Stephen does these things too, but he makes a point out of satirizing the idiocy and pointing it out, hardly ever going out of character.

Here's a rare glimpse of Colbert doing what's right.. Out of character for a change.

Both Stewart and Colbert are indeed fantastic for doing these right things. That's the first time I really see him going out of character.
