As far as I understand this is the case in the Netherlands too. I present to you "Artikel 242 van het Wetboek van Strafrecht"

Hij die door geweld of een andere feitelijkheid of bedreiging met geweld of een andere feitelijkheid iemand dwingt tot het ondergaan van handelingen die bestaan uit of mede bestaan uit het seksueel binnendringen van het lichaam, wordt als schuldig aan verkrachting gestraft met gevangenisstraf van ten hoogste twaalf jaren of geldboete van de vijfde categorie.

I think that rape would still be rape in that article if the victim was male. It only says the offender is a 'he', which is silly in itself, but the victim isn't categorised as 'he' or 'she'.

I agree, and that sentence is justified if the man pressed charges, which, I assume, he did. In the Netherlands you need to penetrate the body in a sexual way for it to be considered rape. At least, this is how I understand it.

The keyword in the Dutch law is 'binnendringen' which has the following translations according to google:

penetrate
enter
invade
penetrate into
penetrate through
pierce
gain on

Furthermore, the Dutch word 'binnendringen' implies that it is non-consensual.

So, yeah, the Netherlands is one of those countries where the law is pretty bad imo.

I see. The relevant article in the lawbooks is Artikel 249 van het Wetboek van Strafrecht. It's ridiculous. It's rape and should be prosecuted under Artikel 242 van het Wetboek van Strafrecht. That's the article concerning rape (I quoted it on the previous page), doesn't absolutely require violence to be in play though.

But still, it is ridiculous, to say the least.
