Is Summer a Death Sentence?

Summer has always been a rather grim death sentence for the rp on this server, however i've noticed very little change so far and usually the streets are empty. (Beyond the current crisis empty anyway.) My curiosity tells me to ask you good people whether you are going away for any amount of time to see if due to the Cata lack of rp Summer just isn't an issue anymore!

I just came back from my two weeks gone... But then again, I am Horde so doubtfully you'd see me anyway.

Yesterday mind you i ran into the cartel three times, the chapter once, arrested two girls who where cat fighting, saw an old friend, Logged Jerric, bribed someone and employed another, finally logged Arkson and took a random confession.

All this was random on the streets of SW. Between half eight and three o'clock. So yeah in the great RP credit crunch, the Drethster needs no bailouts!

To be honest, with the exception of some nights which you would expect to be a little dry (Friday and Saturday 19:00 - 0:00) I haven't really found the streets to be that empty... still getting regular and casual in and around SW... but that isn't the topic of this thread.

I will be away over the summer -- for one week.

I agree I'm not seeing any crisis, and last summer had alot of RP from what I remember.

Tarv and I are both gone for a month, I'm traversing South East Asia in chino's, a shirt, and an Imperialist attitude. He's headed to Eastern Europe to look at some soviet statues, wear a Castro hat, and pretend the Wall is still up.

I've seen a tiny dip in activity across all the guilds, but that's to be expected people have holidays to take or just more oppertunities to get outside now the weather's nicer. *shrugs* I don't think we'll see any overnight collapse.

Whatever comes, will come. I am not worried; I adapt and I have faith that things will return to its usual come autumn.

I vote "I don't know" because I don't know when and how long my vacation will be, because Science.

That's a proper holiday.

I'll be gone for two weeks at the start of August, but beyond that, I'll be around. I think, overall, the situation this summer is probably looking a lot better than it usually does.

Decent thread idea really, since we've seen RP die a death for a fair few years around this time :p

Gone from July 19th until August 9th.

Gone whenever I have money.

Could one hazard a guess that things will be better than normal because less people can afford holidays after last years trauma?

Gone from 15th to 18th but thats about it.

I'll work all summer, so no more absense than normal for me (meaning I'll be online when I feel like and offline when I don't)

I haven't even touched WoW in two months now. But...I'll be back, I swear! Not that anyone cares, but still...

I'm not going anywhere this summer, no money, qq. But I have been spending a lot more time outside, so, the fine weather does put in a dent in the amount of interest I have in WoW.

Losers, I haven't been outside in like 256 hours.

I'm on holiday for two weeks right now, though I pop by regularly as the nerd I am.

Well, aslong as your around on the forums and hand out Dwarf Fortress stories im quite happy <.<

I'm hopping on and off, but I tend to let people know when I'm gone then catch up.

But yeah. Been away 10 days, then 5-6 days, future 1-7 days, then semi-absent 4 days. That's it.

If summer was a death sentence, this game would've died 7-8 times already. No. It is not. And rp is not dying either. Some people have less "free time" for it, due to vacation and going out, some people have more "free time" for it, due to not having school or w/e. Reduced activity? Yes. Death? No.
