OOC: This is an attempt to make GHI (and other such addons) and story-making a bigger part of our IC community. We're looking for people that wish to roleplay librarians, or people that already are. We hope to get hold of a large amount of books and stories that exist and are known within the IC world of our server (so please, if you do have a story on these boards that is also a known book in the IC world, do send a link as a response to this post and we will add it in the files of IC books). If you have GHI books in game already that you'd like to share, please contact me (you can find me on any of the characters mentioned in my signature).

OOC: I wouldn't base all of this too heavily on GHI. Because frankly there are a lot of people on this server that do not like or use it.

We are filing the books on these forums too. So if someone wish to loan a book and don't have GHI, we can send it over the forums as a PM

decent initiative, I love GHI and the possibilty of a IC library that utilises this I'd welcome plus It'd be kinda cool to see peeps RP'ing authors and them working on there next novel.

A chance for JP to spread his books! They are so exciting and captivating! Like.. they talk about Light. And 3 pages further, they... still talk about Light. And... then some more Light. But anyways, it's awesome to read. Ye? eh?

This reminds me of an idea, which might not be new at all: a "book" writing competition of sort could be organized ICly. Of course it wouldn't need to be really a whole book. But probably it should be restricted on what kind of writings can get in the contest, like; different guides, stories, history, poems, etc.

I have a question - Are you accepting real game world books, to the library? Because, if you haven't noticed already, when reading an ingame book, theres a button at the top to transcribe it fully to a GHI item.

I have transcribed every single book that I have read in game to my GHI library...

Yes, we will have those books in the libraries as well (as GHI items, and on these forums) =)

I assumed the chapter where more in for burning books XD

Love the library idea, I am kinda using the city hall for Abbot midhals mission house, but there are bookshelfs in there and tables. We could share and use it as a library, Good rp for the friars and we can help run the library for you.

Question:

Let's say Amatho has written a lot of personal diary entries and she wishes for them to become public, will that do? Cause then I'll have a book ready in no-time.

Edit: Also, is there a location concerning this library? (Because the City library is quite small, not that it would matter) Will she be able to bring the book ic, herself? Is there an opening event or something like that set? Would be fun to have a grand-opening.

Yes that will work perfectly fine!

Right now there are two locations being used frequently. There's the smaller library at the Mage Quarter by the Canals, used by Jean-Pierre. I myself tend to linger in the Royal Library more so feel free to come to either and hand over your book ICly

For the small library there was an opening event already. The larger one has not had one yet, however I do plan to hold an event once I've gathered some books so I can lend them out and so on. That's why I poked this thread here
