Well, yeah. They are 18 years old, maybe 19. At that age they are given a weapon, and thrown into the wild. First tehy place them at really dangerous places, where people fight with armed resistance, and there are frequent attempts to send suicide bombers. Then they place them (the MAGAV, Defense of the border unit) Where the settlements are, and there are usually civillian protests. So they have the Trauma from being 18 and almost dying once a month, and it's being abused by the goverment so they will handle it by.. doing things that you saw in that video, and even worse.

I remember going on skiing holiday with a guy who just took a year absence after his military service in Israel to go see the world and explore all the other nations. Only thing he ever said about it was that he wanted to forget everything that happened then. It feels horrible that such young people have to endure such traumas.

off topic story: My mother told me stories of going to Israel back in the days and seeing all the tanks and AA-guns and artilery in the streets and such. When she asked what it was, they said it was agricultural machinery heh.

It "is" agricultural. It's used to clear land (just like a tractor)...

It's all too easy to shout "anti-semite" at any critical attack of the IDF or Israel. And very sadly that stops far too much of the rational and reasonable debate. There's "shit on both sides" that's obvious. But the treatment and actions of the IDF are all too often appalling. Like Gene mentioned these are mainly conscripts and then you factor in the dehumanizing of the Palestinians, and the results? Well, they're not just show here (though this video isn't the usual grainy mobile camera picture).

The root of the problem may well be the fact 'a State was made of a Race made of a Religion', and the hypocrisy, venom and misunderstanding that such an action created instantly. Indeed for all the vaunted ideals and "good will" that the West (Europe and the US) showed in creation of the State, they were quite happy to reach their own "solution to the Jewish question", not through eradication of the Jewish people, but their mass movement to a "promised land". Land not theirs, or ours (then again, what land "belongs" to who anyway...). The Jewish people were not just "the problem" to the far right of Germany and the European Axis powers. They were second class citizens in many countries throughout Europe (and the world). So managing (or attempting) to shift them somewhere else wasn't simply a reparation for an attempted monstrosity (the Holocaust), it was a "fix" that a lot of people saw as positive for all the wrong reasons.

I despise the attitude and ignorance that is hatred, the creation of power and control of people to further a manifestly stupid mindset and ideal. It isn't the fault of a religion (though organised religion, any religion, has a lot to answer for), nor of God/gods. I was raised with religion and that hasn't left me completely, I have "belief" or something. There's "love" at the centre of (most of, if not all) the major religions. The problem is mankind doesn't have one set of feelings. We don't just live "love". We live with stupidity, ignorance and fear too. And they're far more likely to come along with a gun.

Sad, really.

Well. More detail. They found duskwood hub that me and 20 people that spent 2 months making. They came along and killed everyone again and again for months, as a result. The hub was distriyed, we could not to for 5 mid beffor they sunk there teath in. As a result. All those I rp'ed with became inactive and in one case switched server, I am very bitter to son as a result

Long version is that SoN were corpse-camping RP-event-ruining tossers who liked to forum troll and counted racist wanksponge and twerp Celltrex amongst their limited braincells, and Ephitosser amongst their vocal "Umad" opponents.
