[A H] The Dalaran Directive
The Dalaran Directive is an initiative on the authority of the Kirin Tor. They are an autonomous branch which answers directly to the higher echelons of the Kirin Tor in Dalaran.
Following the madness and necessary neutralisation of Malygos, the Grand Spellweaver, the Blue Flight is believed to be in disarray due to heavy losses during the incident. The Kirin Tor has once more decided it is time for them to step in to protect the world and magic. Not by imbuing a Guardian like before but through cross-species cooperation, cunning and overwhelming force when necessary.
Their objectives are manifold:
* Recruit and train
* Educate and brief the governments of the world on the state of magical affairs when necessary
* Guard against corruption of the populace
* Maintain the magical balance in the world
* Prevent, and stop, further Burning Legion incursions
Therefore the initiative needs capable and determined people to join the organisation. All manner of talents will be needed if such an ambitious agenda is to be covered but here are a few examples:
* Mage-hunters
* Battle-mages
* Covert operatives
* Informants
* Racial diplomats
* Blue Flight liaisons
* Scholars
* Instructors
* Healers

I would like this to be cross-faction and thus I'm looking for someone to organise things on the Horde side.
If you feel I've left something out don't hesitate to post in this thread. All questions, comments and criticism is welcome.
I'll leave you with this:

Re: [A H] The Dalaran Directive
I'd be delighted to see this flourish. More RP in Dalaran is a wonderful thing!
I'm curious what kind of roleplay you see this organisation having. Would it be mainly academic - discussions and politics and the like? Or becoming involved in wars and conflicts? I see your objectives, which make plenty of sense IC, I'm just wondering what sort of events, etc, you imagine.
Of course I expect somewhat it'd depend on who joins you, but I'd be interested to hear more of what you have in mind.

Re: [A H] The Dalaran Directive
@Aniane-
It would be based in Dalaran but not exclusively. It’s area of operations extend all over Azeroth. With the covert operatives and informants I’m hoping to get my fingers into as many pies (communities) as possible, inspired by SI: 7 *tips hat to Jayse and CO*.
The large body of the organisation would be made up of those said informants and covert operatives. People who perform a small service for the Kirin Tor while carrying on with their usual duties.
E.g.: A loyal, upstanding citizen overheard something that might be of interest to the Kirin Tor. Due to sympathy with their cause, greed, jealousy, fear or blackmail she brings this information to the Directive.
This leads into another part – policing magic use and hunting down deviants. While it might start out weak I want it to eventually create a sense of the Kirin Tor trying to impose their will on magical matters. It’s their way or the Vault. The intention is also to tighten the noose around those that have chosen to play warlocks, cultists and other “magical deviants”, create a sense of paranoia among them.
E.g.: A cadre of spell breakers show up in the middle of the night at Tyr’s Hand to apprehend a mage trying to create an unsanctioned, permanent portal. He’s abducted and taken to Dalaran pending further investigation.
Members known officially to be operatives show up unexpectedly at gatherings and remain there, watching silently for any threats.
The official part of the organisation, ie. the one in the advertisements and in the newspapers, is a group of highly trained spellcasters and spell breakers, protecting the world against evil magic-users, demons and other magical threats. They are the paladins of the magic world.
E.g.: Due to some careless use of explosives by a certain suave explorer, the wards on an ancient tomb have collapsed and unleashed a curse over the area known as Uldum. The Directive must save the denizens of the area and prevent further disrespect to the mysteries of the world by seizing any whip-wielding maniacs.
Cross-faction RP is one of the things that hopefully will come out of this. One of the reasons is that it’ll confirm the stance of the Kirin Tor as a neutral group, interested in the protection and welfare of all of Azeroth.
Second is that it’ll create interesting PvP opportunities for those interested in such. Let’s say that a human team has identified a threat in Stormwind. Rather than go after it themselves, they pass the information along to their Horde counterparts. That way they don’t draw suspicion to themselves and the organisation but it can rather be blamed on the Alliance/Horde.
E.g.: Hargash the Enchanter have failed to use the proper safety precautions in his enchanting shop in Orgrimmar. The Directive sends Manic Hydrobolt to make him realise his mistakes and make sure he never does it again.
While not officially part of the organisations agenda, I have plans for social gatherings with more general mage themes for those interested. One of the events I have in mind is a high society soiree where high society means mages and others of similar superior intellectual, and social, refinement. If there is interest, I have ideas for more whimsical events.
This is what I have in mind and it is not set in stone. Like you said, the interests of those that want to participate will influence what kind of events, and RP, will take place.

Lovely concept, something that I would definately like to look into in game when time permits.
I asume you plan to tie the idea around a guild or rather creating a circle of people from around the existing communty in a more loose basis ( as in different guilds)?
Best of luck in any case.

Even though I detest Dalaran and your little mage hunters will be arrested if they set foot in Stormwind I wish you the best of luck. I attempted this back when Dalaran was an asset to me but alas.. I hope you succeed!

For the moment my plate is full. As I said to Aendiv when we spoke online, this is a project I'm passionate about but currently I have prioritise so it has been shelved for the future. Should I find time between my obligations as Councillor, guild member and various other RP commitments I will consider this project again.
