Re: Suggested RP themed guilds
If you want a socialist-esque movement in a Medieval-like background, the best way would be mixing it with religion - just think of the lunatic fringes of the protestant reformation (Thomas Muntzer, the anabaptists and so on).

The red army from the Sword of Truth series comes to mind but... There's no denying that it turned into blatant anti Communist and pro American 'democratic' (lol) values.

There was the Sea looters, Blackbone cartel etc. Was around pretty long. Almost a year :pMaelmoor wrote:Been quite many pirate guilds on alliance side since the server started but they usually don't last more than a month or two.

I've seen this concept being very successful on AD with the guild The Fablewind Faire. They're a amazing bunch and the concept is very much liked by everyone who has seen them perform or has RPed with them, because they're simply that good ^^
I love this idea frankly, i'd love a travelling faire..
My own personal wish would be a functioning Sailor/Pirate guild!

Saw her last night. I'm not super amazed by it. Could be the horrible grammar and countless typo's.
Or the endless rambling that made no proper sense. Too much weirdness in the attempted mystic and mystery.
But that's my opinion.

What about an Human only Military Guild?
And I'm not talking about Golden Knighty Knight Orders of ERP nor a band of Super Heroes wearing the latest PvP gear.

To many human only guilds running around.
More tavern, entertainment based guilds.
A multi-racial group of adventurers that could be either horde or alliance based.
An acadamy that trains in the art of melee, stealth and magic and inturn hosts a gladiator match every couple of months.
A village guild, Pick somewhere in the middle of nowhere, with a rather lack of NPCs but a close enough hearthstone.
A guild devoted to the pursuit of historical and magical based knowledge. Off-shoot of the Reliquirum or explorers league.

They are pretty much all orders of super honorable knights or orders of super imbah characters.
A human military regiment would make more sense than all the above.
Specially on DB, where we host a lot of W-PvP events and where the Human representatives are most of the times Religious people or just silly heroes.

Re: Suggested RP themed guilds
The following idea has been cooking up in my head... Downtown Bilgewater Harbor turns into Las Vegas.
The gist of it is that a couple of goblin entrepeneurs (some say under guidance by Prince Gallywix himself!) start a club in Bilgewater Harbor -- Club Pazazz. Here the members of the Horde flock to for some good old fashioned debauchery. This club can be best described as a casino, with gambling, booze, entertainment and of course some shady dealings on the side. Moreover, if you're a high roller you might be approached to become a member of Very Important Pockets (VIP), a gentlemen's club. This will grant you access to the Pleasure Palace -- a place with atleast ten times as more debauchery than Club Pazazz, a swimming pool, a sauna and a golf course.
Ranks
Chairman (GM) -- The sole leader of the enterprise. He doesn't need to worry about pleasing a stupid board, however. He simply bought them all out!
Floor Manager (Officer) -- The floor manager makes sure that things run smoothly inside the club. A big part of the Floor Manager's job involves cussing at the staff and making small talk with the clientèle.
Head Bruiser (Officer) -- The head bruiser is in charge of security, and emptying pockets if a customer refuses to pay up!
Entertainer -- Entertainers obviously entertain the clientèle. Some ideas: a comedian with shitty race-jokes; a can-can show with goblins; a fire eater (a mage with the Midsummer juggling torches); Prank Sinistra, singer and all-round entertainer.
Staff -- Waiters and bartenders. It's their job to get cussed at and take up orders. Highly replacable and underpaid workers. Then there are the croupiers (slightly less underpaid), whose job it is to empty gamblers' pockets.
Bruisers -- Bouncers and security. It's their job to tell clientele that they aren't allowed in because they do not wear the 'right' shoes (if they're blood elves ;D), and take people into an alleyway to beat them senseless.

I love this idea. o_o I'd totally help out with one of my own Goblins, and you can be sure my Crew would be down for some debauched partying too!

What i would love to see is a guild thats based in Outland, maybe a Dranei one, set up in all the towns, going in between, trading selling wares, being raided by the orcs and nasties of the land...That would be a good one for me
