[Idea]: Server RP Promoting

Right, I will be very brief with this so here is the deal. Blizzard has decided to open free transfers from some servers with high population including @ RP server aswell, I think it was Argent Dawn, I have had this idea for a while alongside few more people to gather suggestions and make up a thread with useful information and post it on the RP section of the WoW forums in a attempt to draft in some fresh blood for our server.

Now, considering the given circumstances we have a number of days to pull this off and get some attention drawn to us. Cataclysm is 5 days away, there are free transfers. Lets go wild with this, I am quite sure some RPers are to look for a new place to roll on, perhaps even some good ones. Lets make something convincing in the following days with which to draft such people to Defias Brotherhood. And I mean, not only because there are free transfers, but because with Cataclysm alot of opportunities open, fresh starts and what not. And we may be even able to attract the attention of people from other servers to ours.

Thoughts, ideas, suggestions?

I up for it, let me know if you need a spammer to go there and cry it out loud over the cities (joking, but aye, count with me if you need anyone to go there and help you out if you finally do it)

Hmm, stealing costumers from the competition, so delightfully goblin, what do you have in mind?

1. Push the defias.eu website all over the forums to get some exposure. Perhaps.. perhaps.. add the website to everyones forum signatures for a but of viral marketing as it were. I'm sure people will get curious once they see 90% of defias posters on the realm forums have this in thier sig?

2. I'm going to speak to the EU Marketing/Community teams (i've got thier contacts) To see if we can get a community spotlight on the Wow-europe frontpage to bolster awareness. but for that i'll need something tangible for them. Perhaps something written or infact just alot of bulletpoints that indicate the nature of the server and community in a positive light.

Right, seeing as there is interest in this, here is what the plan is. We all know the new battle-net forums and what not, we have all the rough data already bunched up (defias.eu) so! We take the points of interest (Organisations, Guilds, events, videos, screenshots, forum and site links) and we make a thread on the RP section of the realm forums, this is stage one.

Stage two begins when Jay contacts the community marketing team and we get a spotlight for the realm, that will fire up some interest. Furthermore, everyone that can see this can put the links of our sites as said above in their signatures as they post around and people would notice it. Even further more, there is a chance we can get in contact with Total Biscuit and have him include our realm name or some small time promotion in one of his videos if he agrees to that.

And hell, gentlemen and ladies. We all have contacts on some other realms including the ones that have been given free transfer off. The best marketing way for making a commercial is as they say 'mouth-to-mouth'. Spread the word to your friends, and tell them to spread it further, sooner or later given all the points of interest that are pointed above, a landslide of interest might be caused and the focus shifted to our realm and with which, more people, fresh blood and more RP!

And the most important thing here. When we make this thread, or before we make it, there is something really important that must be added. We all know that we can write a long and epic tale of what this server can offer, but scratch that. Besides what the server can offer, let us also write what the server NEEDS, what RP nitches need to be filled, what we lack, what we could use and what there is interest/profit/general curiousity in.

REMEMBER, this is for the good of the server and the RP community, don't be shy if you have an idea, as I said. GO WILD and post it here, even the most far fetched ideas are welcome here!

We should dig throught he archive of the 'events' section here and show off some of the more awesome events that have happened on the server!

Are there more transfers planned? Because the only FCM I'm seeing right now is AD > Darkmoon Faire, Steamwheedle Cartel. ô_o

I think there is plenty of guild which should need more members. We don't really need "new" guilds. For example, I could use some extra reporters :p

A new Argent Crusade Factioned Guild! We're lacking sexy Blood elves, Brutish Orcs, Awesome Taurens, Successful Trolls, Dead'men'walking.. :I Recruit such for the Horde. And the Horde Rp will rise beyond infinity!

I like this, and will try to provide in any way I can. I have some screenshots of events flopping about if they are of interest as well.

Our defias web site is our best vitrine anyway. We should continue to work on that one. Continue to post screenshots, artworks, events and yes....

I did consider creating a DB trailer, but more based on the RP guilds of defias (like 30 sec - 1 min montages of each guild). I need to see if guilds are interested, plus, as many of you know I created the DB channel on youtube, so if anyone would like to spread that around, feel free:
