How to RP the Cataclysm?

No, won't be RP'ing on it, and would most likely not, even if there was one. The number of hardships that'd come for it greatly overshadows the number of benefits, at least for me.

Yeah, and now it seems that everyone's gunna be divided into people that do and don't RP the timegap. :S

I, even if I think that there is a gap, am not trying to convince anyone about it. It is what I think, and even if I think that, I will do what the community does, which will be most likely just RP as if we didn't skip anything at all. I still think that there is, at least a 2 to 3 months gap, and someday Blizz will prove me wrong or perhaps not, we only have to wait.

If you think about it, the majority of the "new towns" and those being fortified are in really isolated places and unused zones for RP, lets face it. So for this reason you can safely assume that all the changes have been going on for a while now before the cataclysm occurs.

Basically unless you're a metagamer you can just go with the flow - i.e what Dorik said.

Well even a 2 months gap would put all the world events out of flux. I do think that the calender months we use i.e. January, Febuary etc are IC and having Winter Veil in march would be pretty damn weird

The 'gap' started when ICC opened up and the Lich King became killable. That's been one hell of a long time, if you look at it.

We don't have to go out of our way to ignore, or play out, the gap, because that's what we've been doing for the last 6-9 months.

Myself and many horde players have been discussing this subject.

what i can say for sure, is that these sudden changes were not planned with RP'ers in mind, so there is no clear way to play out the timeline, the shattering or anything else.

but of course... improvise, overcome, and adapt. we are Roleplayers.

i myself wont be taking part in any time leap/warp/scape/change. i'm going to play it straight and keep it simple, the shattering itself i have a story for, so as it occurs tuesday night, i'l have a story posted regarding what happened to Krogon (thats ones thing covered.)

the other thing is, sudden changes. an example i'l use is orgrimmar. for krogon on wednesday it will be no more than "hrmmgh, the peons and goblins got to work fast, already have rebuilt... most excellent". and nothing more. anything beyond that over complicates the whole bussiness needlessly.

my advice? take it all with a pinch of salt, fore-thought and an open mind. otherwise, your just causing yourself problems.

Personally I think a year or two has passed since WotLK, or even more. So get your cover stories done.

Well WotLK came out November 2008, and it's November 2010 now so I don't need a cover story.
