There are chinese created mmos that allow you to play anthro-pandas. That law does not exsist, it's a rumour.

Never said it was a law.. I am just saying that China could refuse it.. Claiming it to be culturally incensitive, and perhaps not even the fact they use pandas but how the pandas culture is represented.. also -tin foil hat on- the government isn't a fan of videogames.. Perhaps they'll abuse the pandas to bar the game.

Oh, yes. That is a possiblity. Well.. I guess I won't be playing in china anytime soon! Golly! ...Shame. They have enough issues as it is, anyway. I still think it's abit early to for a new expansion but, when exactly do you think they'll start releaseing infomation on this? Blizzcon?

I'm sorry, I just can't stop giggling at the serious discussion of fluffy little panda-people taking place here and elsewhere Very Happy. Reminds me of the April Fools where they revealed the 'bard' hero class and a very good (but not very level headed) friend of mine rang me over the phone saying he was very regretfully going to quit the game because of it....until I told him the date leading to an embarrassed pause.

Feels like A* trolling from Blizz, my guess would be it's a red herring of some kind.

Either that or...well, all I can say is a monk class would be fairly epic. Goblin/dwarf monk? Yesss.

@Vect. Yes, I would imagine so, Blizzard has announced they want to release an expansion like each 1,5 year (?) Well quicker than they did before (start of Wratch till release of Cata was a little longer than 2 years)

I'm -more- excited about the prospect of new concept art, new lands and new quests. And... new models, whether we get to play them or not!

A healer hero class would be sexy.

If this was an expansion I don't know if the Pandarians would be alliance.. There's more instances of them helping the Horde than the Alliance. Then again if Thrall isn't Warchief again by then they'd never help Garrosh.

I'd say if they are in it, they'll be a neutral faction and we'll get two other races or a hero class. The next Horde race will so be ogres, they've wanted to do it for ages. Also anyone who says, "You can't do this cause of CHina." There are no laws against showing Pandas in China, there are laws against showing horrific violence as it may encourage it. THis is why they edit the game as it is now.

I'm still gonna cling to Metzen's ankle and wheep/beg for playable naga, either way. If it has some sort of anicent japan feel about it, I'm gonna love it.

1. Naga - Me too. Redeemed little section that Malfurion finds. (Worgen.)
2. Ancient Japan - Good god me too..

I read an article that they started censoring games with depict Chines as the big teethed doofuses in their silly robes.. No one here has said it has to do with laws against showing pandas.. There are however loads and loads of censorship rules.

(quick wiki:)
Violating basic principles of the Constitution
Threatening national unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity
Divulging state secrets
Threatening state security
Damaging the nation's glory
Disturbing social order
Infringing on others' legitimate rights
Making animals dominant to humans (Nintendo games are formerly known for this)

Pandaren would be hilarious fun. I can totally see setting myself up as a revered pandaren brewmaster. Maybe owning an inn. Collecting brews from all across Azeroth. Dwarven pilgrims coming to sample the finest booze there is.

...And during the nights I'd lead a multi-racial gang of ninjas, fighting crime and sobriety.

I think what you just described will be the literal definition of the Mary-Sue Pandaren. xD

More of a honourable swordsmen, samurai or monk. Then a ninja, but I suppose you can't deny the awesome of a rogue panda..

Wouldn't surprise me if Blizzard would try to do anything to avoid fullfilling these early speculations of gamers.

So now that they might've been onto their plotline, they scratch it.

Just saying I'd not be surprised if they did.

Oct. 21-22

Fun-fact. The guy that proclaimed that the Rapture would happen this year? He moved the date to, you guessed it, Oct 21st.

Handled properly this could turn out amasing. The far east of Azeroth, which chose to lock itself in isolation for ages now ripe for exploration.

But seriously, we all know why this WILL happen. What is more awesome than a super world shaman? A Kung fu super world shaman! Obviously Thrall heard the legend of Theldurin the Lost and how he punched Deathwing and knocked him out in one strike.

But Thrall would only get his second class.. And Med'an is the Gaurdian of Tirisfal now too isn't he?

I am not sure who would win in a death-match.. Thrall the Earth-Warder or Med'an the pally-mage-shaman-gaurdian of Tirisfal..

I actually think I'll put my money on Med'an, he has bubbles, amazing self-heals and has access to OP frost.

Place your money on the research project to combine the Forsaken Blight, the Gnomish Radioactive bomb, the combined magical energies of the Sunwell and the Well of Eternity, and the endless shouts of whining from Roleplayers about everything, so that we can kill both when they duel each other.

I'd invest in that.. Could we possibly invite Rhonin to join the fray too please?
