Same here, as I am a cosplayer myself... Some people really don't know how to make a good costume without me facepalming and shaking my head. Fail cosplay is fail.

My best friend's a cosplayer and she still manages to pull off awesome cosplay, despite being a recovering cancer patient with one leg.
I have pictures but I'd rather not be flaunting them without her permission first.
She works really hard to get her costumes and thank god she doesn't make them herself but rather gets her uncle to do them, that'd be too stressful for her.

Just saying, m8. I'm sure Freud has a real nice theory about cosplayers.

Drag queens count as cosplayers, no? :D Because if so, I am so putting some RuPaul up in here.

I personally am not a cosplayer. But i've got a very talented friend who is, she's studying textiles, and the fact she cosplays. Is proably going to earn her a job in one of the world's best plays. as a costume maker. and that pays quite well. It's a form of art, just like roleplaying. and just like roleplaying it has it's diamonds and rotten apples.

And this is why it was a bad idea to split the topic into two.

Because people are discussing cosplay? I don't see your point.Jakins wrote:And this is why it was a bad idea to split the topic into two.

Perhaps you should lay off a little and allow people to use the forums what they're actually meant for.

Oh wow! I don't know if this was directed at me Madel, but I am in no shape or form making fun! I've never really seen any cosplayers but if they're anything as fun and entertaining as drag queens then <3!

On Defias Brotherhood discussion is clearly a secret word for: Snobby, snob-snobs to poke fun at things they disagree with? -most- of these discussion forums that keep popping up are ending up with thick skulled people blitzing them with insulting links. ...Oh if I was a moderator.. The world would kneel! KNEEL!

No, because people are readily flaming it by saying how much they hate it and why it's on the verge of being close to when you played dress up when you were a child, kind of reason.
I also wouldn't mind it if flaming a hobby in the topic it's for was issued warnings over, because it is generally hostile when you make fun of someone's hobby in the thread it's supposed to be about.

In my humble opinion there is no harm in making fun of anything. In general, on this forum there are TOO MUCH people that take offense of innocent joking.
And lol at the fat guy in the transformer outfit.

Re: El Grande Cosplay Topic
You're making fun of my hobby by trolling threads and trying to make it a sport to get a warning issued yourself. Whether he may be flaming or not, Archal has given his opinion. I don't see why it's such a bad thing to see different opinions on a forum. Perhaps we should turn to censorship while we're at it.Jakins wrote:No, because people are readily flaming it by saying how much they hate it and why it's on the verge of being close to when you played dress up when you were a child, kind of reason.

Anyway, this isn't the place for such discussion, so let's keep this on-topic from now on, whether it's a personal opinion or showing off a costume or not. As for those who don't like the subject, make sure you keep to pointing out an opinion instead of pure trolling from here on out. On a side note, I want to see some costumes!
Re: El Grande Cosplay Topic
I think Jakins is mainly just upset because people are being a bit too blunt whilst stating their opinion. Having an opinion is perfectly ok obviously, but expressing it like how a certain few are is just a bit too disrespectful :p.

I think most people are smart enough to know, if they want to annoy someone they'll keep their opinion blunt. Some people enjoy attention and trouble, hence why they insult cosplayers or anime lovers in their discussion forums?

Re: El Grande Cosplay Topic
I still love playing dressup, but I was never into the cosplay act. I did some LARP a couple of years ago, which was fun in its own way. Suppose what makes cosplay usually such a lulzworthy subject is because people who are -really- into something -always- look like idiots to some others. But hey, if you're a geeky cosplayer, why the hell care what anyone else thinks? Not like you have to give two flying fucks if some dutch/swedish/norweigan kid somewhere points his or her finger at you and snickers. They're just twats anyway.
