[A] Interest Check: WPvP RP'ed Raid?

All,

Any interest in an Alliance raid into Horde-held territory one evening?   I dearly like the idea of a Role Played raid into Horde territory by a bunch of Alliance soldiers, mercenaries or military outfits etc.

Do any guilds do this already?   If so could I tag along some time (100th level Warrior who sucks at PvP )?   Or even better a guild-free raid?  Where whoever feels like it signs up and we go raiding?

I've no specific details on what I'm thinking of here - maybe just raiding into some towns or zones in Horde territory?  Maybe an organized open world fight with some Horde RP PvPers on the realm?  Whatever gets people interested I guess.  Basically I'd love to do some WPvP but being guildless myself means I'd have to do it solo which is (a) less fun and (b) far too dangerous!  

I'm not proposing to organise this myself, as I'm (a) rubbish at organizing stuff, (b) too random on my attendance and (c) guildless so I have little influence on getting people to do stuff.

So count this as a simple Interest Check for now:  Anyone out there fancy some of this?

From what I know in recent times Alliance usually defends in RP-PvP themed events with the Horde doing more assaults like that. With certain guilds clashing back and forth mainly I belive between The Horde [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and Alliance Groups like the [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] (probably some more but you'll find some past battle's details on the Raiders post)

Though I did read about a plan for a RP-PvP campaign in the future, how exactly that's comming along I wouldn't know.

There are a decent amount of Alliance RPers who do go out and WPvP, do BGs and RBGs, though RP isn't really too present there. But this happens a lot more often in general as not so much restricted by RP planing and so and people just gather up and go out into the world. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and the guildless group [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] each run RBGs on a weekly basis and other shenaningans happen like Wpvp now and then.

Also sometimes the SW council is attacked when SW city itself is attacked but that's pretty random at times. People do make defense raids at those times tho.

Overall though intrest there is for Wpvp, Rp-PvP too though that happens on rarer occassions and although some Horde are a bit more enthusiastic at the moment to attack Alliance lands, some are afraid of Alliance supremacy in numbers of mains and such for any bigger battles that is usually solved by switching people in and out though.

Could have missed some things though especially since I am not playing at the moment, but that's off the top of my head.

There is the occasional Alliance Lands patrol but I'm not too sure how much RP there is involved in it as I usually don't partake in it due to conflicting schedules.

Further there are the occasional campaigns by the Red Reach Raiders which are announced here on the forums, while they are usually organized with one of the Alliance guilds defending it's free to join in, just ask the defending guild as we usually can do with more people.

However I would advise to join a guild for more PvP needs as being guildless will limit you to Random BG / Arena or group finder. Some guilds will accept OOC characters in their ranks (The Ninth Company for example) so you're not obliged to partake in the guild RP but you will have more options regarding PvP.

Thanks - yeah I'm very tempted to join the Ninth as an OOC member.  I've been chatting a bit to Mallucis about it over the last couple of weeks.  Though I'd like to see how long I can stay guildless for as it fits my idea of an Independent Smith for Feno.

I guess my main wish with this post is actually to get involved in some organized WPvP and if that is also RP'ed then super-smashing-great.  So I probably do need to join a guild for that.

Are the Ninth doing organized WPvP these days?  Is anyone else?

Ninth and Wardens mostly at alliance side. Theathre and clans join in fron time to time (or atleast I've seen them once or twice during wPvP, not sure if they still actively participate).

Sad to say wPvP-RP is a bit dead these days, something that should be remedied.

It would certainly be good to try and get some more WPvP going. Would it work to put a shout out on the /LFRP channel (thus getting RPers out of preference?) Or better to put it out on the /GENERAL channel?

Not sure what you really want now do you want RP-PvP or you're just fine with any sort of WPvP? Either way you won't get a lot of enthusiasm from /LFRP alone on the subject of WPvP besides a few induvidials.

Sorry, yes I'm being vague.  

Main thing I'd like to experience is WPvP.  If that can be done within an RP context then that's even better.  

I suppose I was thinking of asking on /LFRP because that specifically targets the RP community which is where my heart lies (if it was up to me I'd kick everyone who doesn't RP off the server but that's a whole other conversation!  )

So, to answer your question, specifically I think I'd love to see (in order of preference):

1. A roleplayed WPvP event organized in advance (or even better a recurring weekly one of these).
2. An organized WPvP event with no RP required.
3. Random spur of the moment WPvP with RP characters (not necessarily RP'ed).
4. Random WPvP with random people on the servers.

Make sense?

1. Not really possible, not enough interest on both sides at the moment to make it weekly recurring.
2. It happens, but this will probably be guild organised.
3. Not all RP-players are willing to PvP so I don't think that's going to work.
4. Check premade groups, there are usually some groups up there.

I would say you have most chance to find wPvP without RP.

And I do like your point of kicking all non RP-players off the server, unfortunatly that would render us a rwally low populated server if we did.
But then again, sometimes I miss the goos old days where you could report someone directly for RP-breaking.

Main thing I'd like to experience is WPvP.

That alone should be easy enough even if you start from "with RPers" point organized or not (As long as you're fine with Ally side having RPers on it). But with RP context is a bit trickier.

The most enthusiastic of people to go out into the world and WPvP in general as i've said are the people that do Rated Battlegrounds in the RP comunity since on days or times they don't they tend to go around and fight the Horde.

Either way your best bet is to do a intrest check on the offical blizz battlenet forums realm side, /LFRP, icly or even general rather then waiting for a answer here since not really a lot of people follow this site too well.

I can confirm there isn't a lot rp-pvp/rp:ed wpvp on this server nowadays. Last I reckon have been the Red Reach Raiders raiding Alliance lands and some Alliance to defend. but that is mostly it recently.

I'm waiting for the Horde to get some more strength in numbers and well mains (characters played as main and not as an alt), so that they could be a match more to Alliance and so there might be even possible to have some rp wpvp campaigns. But also having in mind, if and when, getting the motivation to start a campaign even with lack of greater Horde strength, could be possible.

I'm thinking of a campaign to the north at Eastern Kingdoms. There are a few Horde guilds at Undercity, Quel'Thalas areas. Only I'd like to have rp wpvp without too strict control, but quite like open for surprises, uneven fights, patrols, ambushes, opportunistic wins and defeats tearing one into tears. Like fights would happen realistically. I think too controlled events take the spirit of a realistic event.

But this is just a thought at the moment. Maybe, maybe it could become real though. Ninth would like to play a part in any rp wpvp happening anywhere, and I'd like to take part in as many as possible events like these. I like these campaigns taken place in the past and wish to continue to take part in those.

An RP-WPvP "campaign" sounds simply awesome. I think this could easily work if the RP is done at home in terms of plans and ideas and then when the full blown PvP stuff happens that is just played out as WPvP with no RP as such (too slow in the middle of the chaos of battle).

I tend to agree that this should not be too organized in terms of trying to force balanced sides. I think something more organic, which potentially also includes fighting NPC guards and the like, would be more fun and "realistic".

I know traditionally that the PvP "raids" have been Horde side. I'd like to see this being done by us Alliance dudes too...
