New player looking for RP-PVP guild
Hi guys!
New player here, I've been (role-)playing many MMORPG such as T4C, Aion, GW2, TERA and more but I'm glad I finally came across one that seems to offer RP-PVP and whose community seems active too!
I'll most likely play a paladin, or a deathknight. I'm completely new to Warcaft Lore and game though (played for a few hours so far) so I don't mind rolling Alliance or Horde, the guild I'll find will make me decide. Oddly, I've heard RP is more active on the Alliance side but I've seen more posts about Horde guilds looking for Rp-pvp on here, any chance you guys could enlighten me on the matter?
I'm looking for a guild that pulls off weekly events, and most importantly, RP-PVP events on a regular basis with real storylines and purposes (which I'm more than happy to help with if needed). I'm not looking for a particular guild theme either, I've seen a few that seemed appealing to me so... the number one thing I'm after is active and creative people.
I'm happy to answer further questions if you guys want to know more about me, I'm 30 years old, for those that don't accept people under 18.
Looking forward to starting amazing stories and shape history on your side. Let the fun begin!
Xx

Re: New player looking for RP-PVP guild
Alliance does indeed have more roleplayers on the faction than the Horde. Alliance however have a rather passive stance when it comes into RP-PvP. They are more than eager to 'react', but fewer groups among them are interested to go on the offensive.Herael wrote:Oddly, I've heard RP is more active on the Alliance side but I've seen more posts about Horde guilds looking for Rp-pvp on here, any chance you guys could enlighten me on the matter?
The forum posts (possibly referring to ones written by me) have been interest-checks to find what Alliance groups are interested to be in the receiving end.

Most Guilds (Horde and Alliance) do pull off weekly events. There are fewer guilds that pull out regular RP-PvP events however.
Usually, RP-PvP has come out in two forms. One, Individual guilds go about attacking, raiding and wrecking havoc. Either by the Assassination-style of Vile Thorn (A Rogue-only guild in the past) or by the regular Raids of Red Reach Raiders. Two, multiple guilds host large RP-PvP Campaigns together. Multiple days/week long events that involve multiple RP-PvP Battles, Roleplaying in army camp, rousing speeches, actual Campaign Progression and a great deal of Roleplaying. However, said events are taxing to organize and usually there are multiple months between ones.
Almost all guilds involve to said Campaigns, when such are organized. Fewer do pull off RP-PvP on a regular basis however, as they want to focus on other kind of storylines and plots that may not involve PvP.
If you want to focus on the regular RP-PvP part, Red Reach Raiders (Horde) are probably your guild. Our trademark activity is creating RP-PvP events where we assault upon Alliance towns and cities. Other Horde RP guilds do occasionally join us on them aswell. Of the Alliance, The Ninth Company is usually on the receiving end, as they are very eager to go and act as reinforcements to whoever is defending to even up the numbers.
If you search only occasional RP-PvP, and more focus on deep, non-PvP storylines, then almost any other guild will do well for you.
That's all that I could come up to write to this moment. Do respond and throw around more questions should you have ones.

Wow, I didn't expect such a long and detailed reply. Thank you for doing so, that's definitely helped me make up my mind. I had noticed both the Red Reach Raiders and the Ninth Company, prior to posting, by browsing the battle.net forums. Funny that you came up with the same ones, a good sign I believe.
Well your guild (the raiders) seems really interesting, especially after reading its dedicated thread that's full of regular updates telling the stories you guys have been through and so on! I must admit that I like that "bloodthirsty" IC state of mind of yours. Do you happen to run IC dungeons and things like that too? I shall sign up and get myself a regular account by tomorrow (currently on trial). From there, I'd love and will do my best to get in touch with you guys.
Again, many thanks for your reply, much appreciated!

You're welcome. I was happy to help.Herael wrote:Wow, I didn't expect such a long and detailed reply. Thank you for doing so, that's definitely helped me make up my mind.
We've not done this kind of stuff just yet, while it certainly is a possibility. Dungeons have the downside that 1.) they allow only 5 players to enter. 2.) Majority of them are low level and can just be facerolled through.Herael wrote:Do you happen to run IC dungeons and things like that too?
It does fit our concept through to hit Dungeons and other caverns IC if there is valuable stuff to be had (read: boss loot and other misc doodaad that is laying around the dungeon). We have simply not got as far as that yet. If we happen to be in the same zone as an instance due to a roleplaying plot (and even if we head to the zone with that purpose alone), we can definitely give such a try. I'd personally prefer to make use of max-level dungeons and Timewalking dungeons, since it allows us to use game mechanics - which we also use when RP-PvP, and also since I don't really enjoy hosting DM events to much. They tend to be a bit slow paced and require a great deal of planning to reach the epic level standard that I try to put on myself. (DM events are events against imaginary mobs created by the use of /raid warning and raid markers).
Alright. See you ingame. If I am not around personally, Atmosphera, Ashwood and Tfizle are all able to invite to the guild.Herael wrote:I shall sign up and get myself a regular account by tomorrow (currently on trial). From there, I'd love and will do my best to get in touch with you guys.
