Question about Blazing Shields / Stormwind Regiment

Hello, I'm trying to have a better understanding of the main RP guilds operating in SW and I have one -hopefully not controversial- question.

IC-ly speaking, what's the relation between Blazing Shields and Stormwind Regiment? I'm aware of some *cough* "history" between them but I don't really know how they fit in the overall scheme of things as military / city guards. For example: How do their respective chains of command relate to each other? Do they have distinctive roles/separate jurisdictions, or are they just portrayed as sections of a common group at a lower level? How do they act when they meet? That sort of thing.

PS: Feel free to add any explanation about other city guard guilds I may not be aware of as well

Two guard guilds! Ranks are fairly similar and generally privates will salute higher ranks and threat them with respect regardless of guild difference. And vice-versa. There's just no cross-guild ordering around, although sometimes cooperation occurs. They both follow the same laws, although some might interpret them different than others. Shields are rumoured to be a little more strict towards their own members and criminals both, which is cool.

Afaik anyway.

Think of it like two regiments (Military group) part of the kingdom so hard for one side to order the other around, since they are sort of equal in position. You're usually not gonna mix match people around with people they wouldn't know as well anyway.

As said cooperation now and then but of course squables and disagreements are a thing now and then so from what I've seen it tends to be if one side has something under control it's their thing to solve unless it's something biger or related somehow with another matter.

I've only seen their ranks tad diffrent from each other but otherwise don't think they got any special diffrences in juristiction and roles. The usual soldier, medic, scout-type, yada yada

There is a diffrence of aproach sometimes, strictness, discipline now and then. Shields got a lot more linding up and marching and so. Regiment tends to get a lot of love from criminals, in a lot of meanings (from what i experienced least) and lots such swap sides a lot from criminal to guard there.

Regiment has less restrictions for races as well to note.

And the cells Shields use are a more general thing as the Disciples of Light also put people in there (Note they also fall under the militaristic theme with guarding at the very very side unlike the other two)

Can't really think of anything else and can't say too much about the Shields, been only once in the Regiment.

Basically, Blazing Shields answer to the Stormwind Regiment. So a promotion from commander of the Shields would be to become a recruit of the Regiment.

What CrusaderElly say is more or less it. My own experience is that Blazing Shields are little different in way of handling witnesses then the Regiment is, but its all good ^^

They share patrol areas, and show respect for each other. First on the scene of a crime is the guild that get to take the case, normally.

Though there's shared work between the two . Sometimes we pass on the job depending which "specialist " is avaliable in the unit
