Right, so to make it easier for people on the forums to catch up to what people are talking about in the general thread- I decided it's time to create a thread like these.

Keep in mind this thread is focused on the news, and therefor please keep any comments directed to the general chat. Only add a reply here if it contains news, don't make any remarks or anything of the sort. If you desire to do so, quote what you want to comment and put it in the general thread.

So I'll start this off with the new alpha models, they're not done yet but they act as a preview of what to come.
Some of these are capable of being viewed thanks to our database overlords at Wowhead.

Coppersocket wrote:The new models have been implemented into the profiler on WoWhead.

(I have to say, the Male Draenei's tail thing looks like cheddar)
Gonna Highlight this:
I wanted to give you a quick heads up that we’re expecting some in-progress models to be hitting the Warlords of Draenor alpha test soon. While these will give you an early look at some of the models, please be aware that they aren’t finished yet. We’ll be presenting final high-quality model captures in future Artcrafts, so stay tuned!
Also, the only models covered by the model viewer are

Male:
Gnome
Dwarf
Draenei
Orc
Tauren
Undead

Female:
Gnome
Human
Dwarf
Orc
Night Elf

So in this opening post I'm gonna get you in on How you can view your own character.

  1. Create a account on WoWhead
  2. Once you've created your account, hover over Tools at the top of the page.
  3. Hover down to Profiler from the dropdown menu that should appear, and a new list should appear on top, choose "Lookup Battle.net Profile"
  4. A new box should appear stating Region, Realm, and Character. Change US to EU, then either search up Defias Brotherhood on the Realm dropdown list, or simply click it and start writing "Defias" and it should highlight it. Simply click it. In the character tab you write in what character you want to view
  5. Be patient while it gathers the information about your character

So you've created your profile, what now? How do you find your profile again in case you leave the site but want to return?

On the top right of the site, you should see your account name. Hover over it. A new drop down menu should appear, simply hover over "My Profiles", and select the profile you want to view. Keep in mind that you cannot have more than 8 profiles per account. These profiles can only be linked as long as you don't delete it. (Which you can do by entering the profile, and hitting the Delete button which is located under the First Aid icon)

So you've found your way back, but your character on the profiler hasn't updated along with you as you changed gear? Press the big blue Update button, and then wait for it to Sync. Keep an eye on the status box that appears and it'll prompt you to reload the page once it's done. Either click the little Reload link that appears in green, or simply press F5 once it's done syncing.

Enjoy.

For anyone who missed it, the new artcraft of the Human Male is out

Source:

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Spoiler:
Welcome to another Artcraft! I’m Chris Robinson, art director on WoW, and today we’re keeping it short and sweet with a reveal of the updated male Human model. As with the previous model redesigns, our goal here was to honor the silhouette and style of the original, while increasing fidelity and fixing some of the big issues we’d identified. The male Human has long been a source of criticism from some of you for his odd proportions and face geometry. We’ve taken great care to ensure we’re not changing so much that he looks completely unlike anything you’d expect, while also correcting some of the more glaring problems. We hope you enjoy the results!

Connected Auction houses
Come Warlords, Auction houses are now all neutral. Meaning that as a Horde player you'll be seeing Alliance auctions even in Orgrimmar etc.

This'll benefit just about everyone, it means more sales for everyone- but it also means double the competition for servers like ours where the factions are quite balanced in population. An interesting change for sure, and make sure to take advantage of this when WoD drops, prices will drop like a sack of shit and you're best to take advantage of the situation when it does and buy everything that will eventually normalize to get as much profit from it as possible.
Be careful with your purchases.

Guild Perks and Levels trimmed
Tired of getting spammed by "guilds leaders" spamming you invites so that you can have a "pleasant experience" giving them money? Say goodbye to those days. Come Warlords, a lot of these perks have been integrated into the system by default and perks such as Cash Flow are now completely gone because the perk didn't benefit the aimed audience, raiders. It instead spawned a bunch of "guilds", where people abused the system and took advantage of players to make easy money.

What will become of the guild system is yet to be revealed, but it won't stay as it is now. Every guild will now have these benefits from the get-go but will have some sort of benefit system to make people want to assist their guild.

New Tailor pet, new Engi Worm-hole generator, new Tailor mount, 30 Slot Bag, Class Books

So, once again- coming WoD, there'll be a bit more love towards our Tailoring friends. First, let's cover the pet.
- Minitature Flying Carpet, it's a battle pet made by tailors. It'll likely just be a mini version of the carpet mount. I mean, what can you really expect?

- Tailors will also be able to recieve a recipe for a new mount called Creeping Carpet, which again is a flying carpet. Along side this, they'll also be able to make 30 slot bags called Hexweave Bag which will be crafted by 5 Sorcerous Earth and 10 Hexweave Cloth.
It should be presumed that both of these will be hard to obtain and assume the bags will go for about as much as Royal Satchels do today.

- Warlords will once more have Worm-holes for engineers to create, and it's probable that these will no longer have a 4hour cooldown.

- Class Books make their return, this time they don't grant new abilities but rather enhance your abilities. It's still uncertain if all of these will only work in Ashran, but it would seem likely given their power.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] has some of the current ones.

- In Warlords, the title Leeroy will now be yielded by a quest involving Leeroy himself.

More BGs for low levels
Interested in twinking? Perhaps not the biggest interest among the roleplayers. But anyhow, some/all BGs will now be available to low levels now as well. Which BGs these will include has not been noted, but for anyone interested in low level PVP, you can now look forward to random BG queue once more, and more maps to play.

The new Premade Finder & Raid/BG graphic settings
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Spoiler:

With this new tool, it should be easier for everyone to quickly find people for whatever they want to do.
Hopefully, it'll be a bit more indepth than the current Raid Finder within the game. Looks good for now however.

Along with this, you can now tailor your graphics to be lowered or raised when you're in a raid or in BGs.

New Loading Screens, and other minor stuff
There's apparently new Loading Screens coming that are for both Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms.
Why we need new loading screens? Who the fuck knows. But one thing's for certain, they're fucking ugly and even cover some of Kalimdor's map. Good going Blizzard.

Facial variations

Hello, and welcome to Artcraft! I’m your host Chris Robinson, art director of World of Warcraft, and today we’re going to tackle something I know a lot of you have been looking forward to: facial customization options.

When we began working on the updated character models, we knew it would be a huge project, and we weren’t sure we could do it all at once. The idea originally was that a few races would be available at launch, and all the others would be patched in throughout the course of the expansion. While it wouldn’t have been ideal to see a mix of lower-quality and higher-quality models running around side by side, it did seem like the most realistically achievable solution at that time. Since then, though, we’ve committed ourselves to getting all of the original character models in by launch. It’s been a monumental challenge for us, but we think the effort is worth it, and the finish line is nearly in sight.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Spoiler:
Our next big focus is doing justice to the facial options. With the original models and their simplistic geometry and low-resolution textures, a lot of facial expressions were simply painted on. Now that we’ve moved to higher-polygon models with lips, teeth, and fully articulated faces—not to mention higher-resolution textures—recreating those same facial options isn’t as simple as painting them onto a flat surface. Previously, to get a sneer out of a model, you’d just paint a sneer on its face, and that was that. To do it correctly now—and make it look great—we have to fully pose a sneer, create a custom texture, and mesh that base pose with all of the existing emotes and animations.

These more detailed face customization options were also originally part of our earlier “update-as-we-patch” rollout plan. Our initial idea was to release the new models with their base face, and then add additional options in updates over the course of the expansion. Again, that plan was based on the sheer amount of work involved in creating what are effectively all-new races (art-wise) on top of all of the art a big expansion like this one generally requires. But stepping back, we came to the conclusion that it just wasn’t going to be a good experience to have everyone playing with the same face geometry and a slight texture change, not knowing what their character would really look like until some later patch. In the end, we decided it would be best to tackle all of a race’s facial options at once. Up to this point, you’ve seen one facial geometry set, but very soon you’ll start seeing more finished products for each option in upcoming beta builds.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Spoiler:
The original Dwarf model (left) has his teeth painted directly on his upper lip to give him a snarl. With the new models, which have fully modeled and textured teeth, a simple paint job just isn’t an option—it would look terrible. In the middle, you can see what that same sneer looks like right now in the beta test; on the right is what you’ll see in an upcoming beta build.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Spoiler:
On the left, we have a pair of original Orc faces. The second column represents what you’re seeing right now in the beta build, showing texture variation but the same facial geometry. The third column shows a posing rig to demonstrate how we’re customizing each of the face appearances further. On the far right, you can see the final product.

We’re working hard to ensure all of the updated character models have the high level of quality you expect from us, and that we expect from ourselves. This revamp is a truly enormous project that we care deeply about, and we know you feel the same. We’re looking forward to seeing all of these new, high-quality, awesome-looking models running around Azeroth, and we hope you enjoy seeing the characters you know and love in a whole new light.

Thanks for reading, and see you next time!

New Ram Mount, Gul'dan, Seasonal PVP map, PVP Titles?

And what I ASSUME (and hope) is a new battleground, Tarren Mill vs Southshore!
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Spoiler:
Edit: From what I've understood, this is indeed a new battleground. The map is individual, and there has been talk within Blizzard for a very long time, regarding this. They've wanted this to be a battleground for some time, question is only now what sort of battle we can expect in this? Will it be a 40vs40 all-out deathmatch?

Finally a few minor things. First, we got these titles
CharTitle #397 - Blood Champion ...
CharTitle #398 - ... the Manslayer
CharTitle #399 - Gnomebane ...
CharTitle #400 - ... the Dwarfstalker
CharTitle #401 - Worgen Hunter ...
CharTitle #402 - ..., Scourge of the Kaldorei
CharTitle #403 - ..., Draenei Destroyer
CharTitle #404 - ..., Terror of the Tushui

I assume these are PVP titles, it's pretty self-explanatory.

It also seems that you'll be able to set a favorite mount per zone in Warlords
MOUNT_JOURNAL_NO_VALID_FAVORITES - You have selected no favorite mounts appropriate for this area.\nRight-Click in the Mount Journal to set Favorites.

We'll also be able to get our own baby shark

Character Selection Screen Gear Obtainable in WoD
I'm gonna copy-paste this directly from WoWHead

The character selection screen gear looks pretty awesome--most are high-definition variations on old tier gear. After looking in the database tonight, we noticed that an additional batch of ilvl 483 boosted gear was added, using these unique models. We reached out for confirmation and heard back that these unique models were intended and that there would be a non-boosted way of acquiring them:

This is by far the most important news in years, so here we go

Gnome's faces have been updated in the latest build.

Also, I should probably get back to posting updates here at some point. But for now, enjoy the crackwhore face that is the third top left.

New WoD build delivers something unexpected & 10 year Anniversary announcement

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Spoiler:

No need to spend real money on customization anymore.
-

With Warlords of Draenor set to launch on Thursday, November 13, we’ve seen a few questions about how that fits in with our plans for the upcoming 10-year anniversary content. We’re looking forward to celebrating this epic milestone with you, and we want to make sure everyone has plenty of opportunity to take part while still being able to fully enjoy what the expansion has to offer.

The 10- year anniversary celebration will begin in-game on Friday, November 21 and will last until Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at 10 a.m. PST. Everyone who logs in during this time period will receive the incredibly cuddly, feisty, and fiery new Molten Corgi to love, pet, and call their own. You’ll also be able to participate in a pair of special events to commemorate the occasion.

Maximum Molten Core
One of WoW’s classic 40-player dungeons, Molten Core, will be available in Raid Finder during the anniversary period for level 100 players. Making it through the underground gauntlet and defeating Ragnaros will reward players with a Core Hound mount and a Warlords of Draenor Raid Finder–quality helm (100% guaranteed!). For a walkthrough of the dungeon as it stands today, check out our [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] guide.

Southshore vs. Tarren Mill—The Battle Continues
To recapture the feeling of the endless tug-of-war of early WoW PvP, we’ll be opening a Team Deathmatch–style Battleground based on the timeless struggle between Southshore and Tarren Mill. We’ll have two different brackets for players to take part in: one for levels 90–99 characters and another for level 100. Unlike the old days of Tarren Mill vs. Southshore, there will be a clearly defined victor, so you’ll need to work as a team or face crushing defeat. A win will gain you a shiny new title: either Tarren Mill Terror for the Alliance or Southshore Slayer for the Horde.

Onward into Warlords of Draenor
With the release of Warlords of Draenor, all unrated PvP Battlegrounds, Skirmishes, and other unrated PvP activities will be available immediately. The new rated season will begin Tuesday, December 2 at 8 a.m. PST.

We also wanted to make sure that everyone had time to level up before we opened our first Raid dungeon, Highmaul, in Normal and Heroic modes. These will open at the same time as the rated PvP season (December 2), with Raid Finder and Mythic modes opening the following week. We’ll provide a complete schedule in the future for those who wish to start planning their new Raid calendars. For more information on the new Raid structure for Warlords of Draenor, be sure to read our Dev Watercooler series: Raiding Azeroth – [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], and [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].

Things ending, Undelete characters, & Name claim

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Warlords of Draenor offers heroes an opportunity to continue their journey into a new savage land, but before you take your leave of Mists of Pandaria, we wanted to remind you that you may have some unfinished business to attend to – before it’s too late. It’s important to note that many of these changes are affected by the release of patch 6.0.2, which like all of our pre-expansion patches, will arrive a few weeks before Warlords of Draenor’s release.

Brawler’s Guild Season One Ending
Brawler’s Guild changes are coming with Patch 6.0.2 which means what’s currently available in game will be ending soon. Once the new patch goes live and Season One comes to an end, all of your progress will reset and the achievements you’ve earned will be moved into a new category in Feats of Strength called Legacy. Brawler’s Guild will also become unavailable until after Warlords of Draenor launches as the new changes will be for level 100 characters. Don’t worry, though, your membership in this exclusive club will carry over into the next expansion.

Now’s the time to get in there and show your mettle by reaching Rank 10 and defeating the card bosses before it’s too late!

We’ll have more information about what you can expect from Season 2 of Brawler’s Guild in an upcoming post.

Season One of Challenge Modes Ending
If you’re looking to make one last push for your Challenge Mode rewards– now is the time. You’ll have until the release of patch 6.0.2 to make a play for these highly coveted awards which include: Achievements, Titles, Mounts and cosmetic class sets. For more information on the end of the season, you can read our previous post [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].

Siege of Orgrimmar Heirlooms
Those who are looking to obtain Garrosh Heirloom weapons from Siege of Orgrimmar will also want to step up their quest to obtain these valuable items. If you want to get your hands on these heirlooms, you’ll want to act quickly. Once Warlords of Draenor releases, they’ll be removed from Garrosh's loot table. For a complete list of available Heirlooms, see Wowhead’s handy list.

A Legendary Undertaking
As we previously announced, the Legendary Cloak will no longer be available to earn after the release of Warlords of Draenor. After patch 6.0.2 releases, players who aren’t already on the quest line will no longer be able to start it. To help you speed you on this journey, the Gaze of the Black Prince buff will run until the release of patch 6.0.2. Good luck on your quest, but remember that your voyage doesn’t end here. Soon, you’ll be setting your sights on the new Legendary item, Khadgar’s Band of the Archmage, in Warlords of Draenor.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the upcoming pre-Warlords of Draenor content patch, we’re adding a new feature that allows players to undelete characters. But before you delete that character, there are a few limitations we want you to let you to know about first.

Characters under level 10 and Death Knights at level 55 are not eligible to be undeleted.
Characters between level 10 and level 29 will no longer recoverable after 90 days.
Characters between level 30 and 49 will no longer recoverable after 120 days.
All other characters level 50 and above are eligible to be undeleted at any time.
Please keep in mind you will only be able to use the undelete option once every 30 days.

Undeleting a character restores all of its enchantments, gems, and items fully intact. You’ll be able to get back into action right away, and your character won’t remember being deleted—we won’t tell, either.

Shhhh. . . .

Reclaiming Your Name: What About Flugur?
We’ll be holding deleted character names for a limited time, and the original creator can reclaim it for use on a new character during that time. If you create a new character with the same name as one of your deleted characters (let’s say Flugur), the new character must be renamed, transferred, or deleted to complete the restoration of the original Flugur.
