[A] Market Day

Well, after I find myself just waiting every two weeks for the Black Market, which is always a blast, I thought to myself, Why don't we have a legitimate market for the good characters to go to, and sell their items and skills? So...

The Grand Alliance Market!
When?
Every other Friday, at 20:00 Server Time, set against the Black Market Event.
In light of the fact that the Shadow Magic Class is being held at 20:00, and it has precendence, time for Friday 28th has changed to 21:00! Further events will return to 20:00.
What?
The Grand Alliance Market is a bi-weekly held event on a friday, where any member of the Alliance can set up a stall to advertise their produce, wares, and skills. Have you recently dabbled in runes? Have you started to cook homemade stews or beer? Then come down and sell what you have!
The Grand Alliance Market also holds a recruitment fare! Have you ever wanted to approach a particular guild in Stormwind, but have troubles in arranging a meeting due to the guild events, or in finding a suitable way to come into contact with them, to get yourself recruited? Then come by the Market, and look for a representative and their Banner! (Yes, if you have the Guild Banner, set one up ICly to advertise your location!)

I plan on hosting this event using Melnerags currency scale. Its well thoughtout and written, with nice, clean tables on nearly all class brackets. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
All coins are copyable by anyone, if you want to use an actual GHI currency system.

"Fat, golden coins, stamped with a Lion and an Alliance Shield."

All of the coins have a small script, that emotes the following:

places the coin onto (his/her) thumb, before flicking it up into the air.
(A three second delay)
catches the coin in (his/her) hand. It shows the (Lion/Crest), thats (head/tails)!

They also play a coin flip sound.

Remember to use GHI so we actually get an item, I recommend getting up a currency, could be the gold coins you already have in game or from GHI/TRP2

Also, something I saw on AD, they had a recruitment fair which was quite populated! I recommend having one on the same day as the market day so we get more content, chose a representative from each guild and have them recruit new members.

Also, perhaps post this on the wow forum for others to see, lets use this event to its full potential with an attempt to get more of the "Wow community" Into roleplay.

I'm hyped up and really exited for this event!

Yep, definitely go ahead with the recruitment fair, that can only help boost guild membership and get the lesser known guilds more publicity. Also, as for currency, i'm going to tentatively use the Melnerag Scale (http://www.defiasrp.com/t3695-financial-role-play) for pricing my items during the event. I'd be tempted to make that scale mandatory, but everyone has their own ideas regarding currency. I already trade is GHI Coins, so I'll post links to the import codes!

Or use the tools the game has given to you, trade in actual items you can use with actual gold you can use.
It makes it accessible. GHI makes events exclusive to the few that use that add-on.

A recruitment fare is a good idea though, that could be good fun. I don't think this sever has enough "floating" players to make it a very productive exercise, but it'll be a lot of fun to watch guilds outbid each-other and pitch their organisation to passers-by.

This, really. No sense in cutting out everyone that has no interest in GHI.

Love the idea of a recruitment fare, that could be very entertaining.

As for the Market, the idea of more reoccurring events is always good. I advice not to worry to much about with what addon if anything Trading is done. A GHI item can always be emoted for the buyer, and an emote-bought good can always be converted into a GHI by the person buying based on provided information. Same thing as money: it is different value for each and every person.

As for the recruitment fare, yes, it is true that we don't have as many "floating" players. However, a recruitment fare would be an excellent opportunity to spread knowledge about "What all Roleplaying guilds does Defias Brotherhood has to offer" for Roleplayers and Non-Roleplayers alike. Such an event can also be advertised in Trade, which may lead curious Non-RP'ers get involved in Roleplaying, which is never a bad thing when considering RP community well-being.

I love it when I finally give a good idea, I'm looking forwards to the first market day already! Hopefully we can get a lot of people to check us out. Also if you are feeling really devoted to this maybe invite a few players from other realms.

Yeah, bring anyone who wishes to buy or sell, frankly, anything! I know that many of use have IC jobs for our characters that we hardly ever get to run - use this as an excuse, get some RP going with people from other guilds!
As for the GHI currency - use it if you want to, or don't. I don't mind eitherway, its just there if needed.

If any guilds are planning on recruiting members or being present this friday, let me know so I can add you to the main page! Also, feel free to set up your Guild Banners around the area to highlight where you plan on recruiting, just please, try to keep them in a neat line.

When is this again?

This friday at 20.00 or so, from what I can tell of the OP and his latest post. Asking around in guild if interest be up for this, if so I could promote the smithing skills of the Blackforge Clan.

Alright, sign up the Band of the Brave, I'll see if I can get some minions interested in coming. I can't guarantee it, I think they already have an event planned for Friday.

You will be going to overlaps with [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] but guess that can't be helped. The Underforge tended to overlaps with other priestly things by it early times so i guess this is nowhere different from that.

Well, I can see that you have changed the event time forward one hour, however the shadow class did the same if I'm reading it correctly.

My class shouldn't be too long so that people can still attend both..I hope!

Also, if anyone happens to have those Darkmoon Faire rides, We could probably expand this event out... hmm. Feel free to set out the cooking tables in a nice, neat line, if you plan on selling food!
