[A] Slaughtered Lamb
Did you hear? The Slaughtered Lamb is opening up again soon. They say one of them pointy-ears bought the place, and will be serving herbal tea. Into aromatherapy as well, apparently. Seriously.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Behind the closed doors of the tavern, rumours are accompanied by your typical 'work-in-progress' noises: sewing, hammering, muttering. Crates with supplies arrive regularly at the doorstep, being dragged inside shortly after delivery. Especially the blood-soaked crates that wobble about left and right and emit screeches are hauled inside with great urgency.
---------------------------------------------------------
Who are we, what do we do?
serving sandwiches and beverages, speciality being coffee and tea or even mysterious brews for those daring. And of course, as a side-activity:
- Blood rituals.
- Summoning demons.
- Preaching and worshipping the Shadow.
- Searching for [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].
- Get a crime record.
- Beating up evil people.. So that we may steal their knowledge and power.
- Attempting to open up portals to the shadow realm or the nether?
- All the above in the utmost secrecy!
All of these will be represented in regular DMed events
Why do we do it?
The guild is essentially following a religion that is a twisted version of those that believe in the Light. Following certain ideals, we worship what is known as 'Shadow Ascendants', so that we might be granted their Divine power and exert our will upon the universe, one day maybe even transforming ourselves into these mighty creatures of ultimate death.
This would mean, inevitably, there might be some clashes with lawful good guilds who wish to extinguish Shadow, or organisations with similar beliefs who wish to exterminate rivals. However, we wish to start slow and remain as unseen as possible for the time being.
- Ranks:
- Heretic: shunning the Light is the first step. We don't trust you yet, however, and we'll keep a close eye on you. Prove yourselves by showing dedication, accept the Shadows, obey orders.
- Acolyte: you've proven worthy to our cause and will be trained in whichever direction is fitting for you, be that as an assassin, a spellweaver, or a warmonger.
- Cultist: trained and accepted, a full part of the organisation. Access to fancy places!
- Lightslayer: your unending resolve and dedication has shown over and over, resulting in this high-ranking position. If we need anyone for a dirty, dangerous task, you're the one for the job. You'll be trusted with some of our most sacred secrets..
- Rising Shadow: officers!
- Councillors: because democracy works, there will be two-three 'headmasters', each one of them responsible for a different branch in our religion/teachings, but taking decisions together.
What can you expect?
- Happy ooc talks all aboard in an active guild filled with mature and kind people.
- Chill tavern rp including daily tasks like: cleaning, cooking, serving customers, fetching supplies, gathering herbs, chatting, ...
- Regular-ish meetings in the crypts to discuss evil things, preach shadows, or gossip about people we don't like.
- Adventures outside Stormwind including: fighting scourge, gathering rare reagents in Blasted Lands, searching for artefacts in Uldum, tracking down a crazed warlock in Duskwood, digging up corpses in the Plaguelands, ...
- Pretty boss solo scenarios for character development!
- Occasional cross-guild interaction.
Mind you, whilst most of us are rather selfish, sly characters (nothing for 'the greater good), in the end we're just normal people with a glass of wine in one hand and a dagger in the other. We are cultists, we want to cause mayhem, but generally we don't include demons or even death knights among our ranks, with a rare exception.
OOC contact
Find any one of my roleplaying characters (see my footnote-thingie) or whisper Deinhardt for more information.
Note that we aim to be a small guild that provides quality roleplay and thus we'll be strict on recruitment. Rp'ing as a baddie can be awesome, but it's also immensely difficult if we want to make it work properly.
IC contact
You wish to become a barmaid? Oh, I'm sorry, we're currently not recruiting. Why not try the Blue Recluse, or the Pig&Whistle?
Rumours will start spreading starting in [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. Those with interest in the true Shadows, with the will and determination to take power forcefully, are to find those wielding a runestone encased in iron, runes etched across its surface and arcane-enchanted, and approach them asking for "the True Ascendant", "the fourth virtue" or "ancient lichen tea" when situation allows.
Final note
Up and running, but more people are always welcome!

Re: [A] Slaughtered Lamb
The Slaughtered Lamb was never closed.
Aside from that, I find this a very appealing initiative. Be sure to keep yourselves hidden! I look forward for my oblivious paladin to have a nice cup of soothing tea, unknowingly surrounded by evil-doers.

Re: [A] Slaughtered Lamb
A while back now, I created a character that worked at the Slaughtered Lamb. Unfortunately I didn't have as much time as I thought I did to put into the character and running the bar, but every hour and then I still log onto Nykem and promote the running of the bar in general chat. (Don't bother doing that by the way).
Is there any way that I could still be working at the Lamb whilst you do your stuff in the basement?

Out of... curiosity let's say, why the Lamb and how do you plan to use it even with the sense of what's under the lamb?

@Siegmund:
The Lamb was free as I was informed (I'mma have to glare at those informants) and allows for casual interaction with other people in-between all the evilz. Playing it right, it will give a sense of mystery having a cup of coffee whilst the bartender lights a candle that smells like death and decay. "Oops, wrong one!"
What's under the Lamb? My, good sir, nothing at all! There's no need for such excess space, hence the rebuilding.

Re: [A] Slaughtered Lamb
It's the obvious and canon hangout for secret evil dudes. Honestly, I'm surprised it's taken so long for someone to try and set something up there that follows the environment closely. Seems like the obvious, and the right thing to do.siegmund wrote:Out of... curiosity let's say, why the Lamb and how do you plan to use it even with the sense of what's under the lamb?
Slaughtered Lamb: Secret evil dudes.
Blue Recluse: Fancy magic dudes.
Pig & Whistle: Rough commoner dudes.
Etc.
Don't do any. You can't change the game-world. It's best to work with what you've got, instead.CrusaderElly wrote:rebuilding.

Re: [A] Slaughtered Lamb
I wouldn't really call it secret evil dudes place as it's not really a gathering place for cultists!
I'd rather say: Immoral secret magic dudes

Good, finally someone using that dusty old spot in the city. Looking forward to accidentally enter that establishment sometime when walking by.

When my Pc stops being half-dead I might drop by on the oblivious paladin or the rich half-dwarf sometime. I really like the lamb for some reason so maybe I'll pitch in on this initiative sometime.

Re: [A] Slaughtered Lamb
Ariel has already been down there several times so she knows her way around, however what I suggest is placing a door were the tunel goes down, place a normal lock on.
Meanwhile downstairs in the giant fire room you camouflage it with a really powerful illusion, so powerful only Mediev can see what it truly is. (Or even Jaina)

Re: [A] Slaughtered Lamb
I'm pretty sure priests aren't welcome down, nor it's like ingame where the cloth is wide open so everyone on the screen can see it.
Seen illusions done sometimes all merry with Regiment once or more I think, least what i saw!
Good luck to the guild though as many seek power the good guys aren't the only ones one can get one can get into a struggle with making it all the more interesting.

Re: [A] Slaughtered Lamb
To have an illusion over it you're basically saying the caster of the illusion is stronger than people on the server except Jaina or Medivh, imo having it in the slaughtered lamb though ruins it for other people who may wish to hide who are not affiliated with the cult what with Stormwind guards will probably eventually get savvy to the concept.
Afterall i've already seen many Rp'ers recently who are familiar with the slaughtered lamb being a warlock hideout which can create somewhat of a problem as a hideout.

*Thinking to the future...*
So yeah, the concept is nice and definitely something Esh'ka would want to investigate on, not for good manners if you feel like not getting busted right away though. :p
Esh'ka hears of the rumors during her time ''visiting'' the Underforge, she frowns and takes her leave, right after buying a couple of who knows what? She walks up to the Lamb, muttering to herself. ''This may just as well be worth the risk, hmph.'' *She legs off, smiling to herself.*

... Right, I give up. That is too horrible to read, even for me. "Front" and "Outside" I can make out, but the rest is just too damn messy.

I see it used for casual RP fairly regularly, but it'll be good to have some atmosphere about the place again!
