Blacksmith's lessons
Short tales of young girl seeking wisdom
Bonds between us
"Do you understand little one?"
Ria shook her head, tilting her head to the side in a confused manner all while glaring at the woman with big wide eyes.
"Maybe you need a better example then. Look, do you see the seperate rings on this simple chain?"
Pointing at the libram connected with a truesilver chain to her own belt the woman smiled at the little girl. It looked heavy and clicks of metal came to ones ear as it moved. The girl could not help but stare even more.
"Each ring is connected to another, if one would fail and broke all the rest would be lost. This means they share a connection, think about it... If I shake my libram, the whole chain shakes with it, any vibration to the first ring affects even the last. If the bond or chain itself is strong it can withstand and adapt. "
"But if it breaks?" Asked the girl
"Things even as strong as steel can break and bend, it's unavoidable. But know this little one bonds go further then just physical connections and these bonds can be repaired and made stronger once again. The new bond learns from the old and so creates unbreakable bonds, beyond the orginial one."
"You know a lot about chains, are you a blacksmith?" Questioned the Girl with curiosity, but kept a sort of prideful smile
"One could say so, now run along we'll continue tomorrow. Don't forget to bring your textbook or you'll be gathering the firewood again!"
Picking up her things Ria rushed down the small path, to home, with youthful spirit in her feet
