Rather small and simple posters are found placed in many Alliance settlements, and several of the neutral ones, written in simple but fine handwriting.

To: all former members of The Blades for Hire

All things eventually come to their end. Just like a coin changed owner as result of a well-done job, it came time for us to move onwards. We have our lives to live, many now much different from what they used to be, but still we sometimes look back into the old memories of past. If you have good memories left of the mercenary company we once belong and your now former companions, you are welcome to show up over a pint of Ale* and remember together what we once were. Blades for Hire.

OOC: The event is created based on In Character reasons and nostalgia, as result of two ex-blades stumble eachother on streets of Stormwind. There will be no intention from me to try revive the guild from my side. All characters who have a reason to appear to the meeting are welcome.

Among many other things, BFH was probably the gathering place of all the worst roleplayers on DB for a solid year. Any and all standards were suspended in order to have "fun" 24/7.

I can not say that i view it completely the same way, but that may be because it was my first Roleplaying guild i ever joined, where i learned the ropes and where i got completely addicted into Roleplaying. Admitted my ways parted mostly of In Character reasons, but i still found it a good guild. We are welcome to have different opinions of things of course.

And will see you two there, providing ours characters are yet alive by the day!

I -want- to just say "god you're a cunt" but that's hardly constructive. Instead I'll say, BfH = guild full of great RPers willing to take new players under their wings, had loads of fun with them and really, really miss the good times. I never had an issue with "the worst roleplayers" except for knowing that YOU had an OOC issue with them due to personal reasons I won't even go into.

Unlike you, I don't judge peoples ability to RP based on how far they can stick each others tongue up each others asses [this over-reaction being a prime example] You can be a nice person OOC but that doesn't automatically make you a decent roleplayer. Taking in new roleplayers would be fine if you could actually teach them something constructive.  

I had an OOC issue with the entire existence of a catch all guild that had no concept besides hanging around in the Pig & Whistle and acting bad ass. When Blades for Hire stopped being active and guilds that actually had unique identities prospered [due to the population change] I was very glad.

Let me simplify it even more so you can't interpret how you want too.

Dislike your RP does not translate into disliking you.

Liking your RP, does not translate into liking you.

actually Cerik if i remember correctly Blades for higher was origionaly a mercenary guild that did contracts for the alliance and nutral parties for hefty sums of gold.. the pig just happened to be where they spent there free time ic.. I have noticed a lot of people are spitting out hate for blades for higher,    In there early and mid days of the guilds life they were very good rp'ers who I enjoyed rp'ing with on time to time.. as with the death of all guilds.. its usualy a change of leadership/taking on too many new rp'ers at once that can and in blades for highers case.. did.. kill it, this fate I believe has befallen a lot of guilds on defias brotherhood in the last year, any ooc issues you have.. keep it to yourself..  you made your anti BFH sentiment clear as bells.. no need to keep repeating the same things when people tried to defend the guild..

you love some.. you hate some,  live and let live and may this ranting over this event end..

I for one fully support skarain's event   thow I wont be a part as i was never in BFH   it does however give me the idea to do an ere argus one.. thow most members of that old place no longer play wow

Pretty much everything Monrena said; but nothing "killed" the guild bar the leadership mostly quitting to do IRL things.

Cerik, you're just generally negative and asinine, if you have a problem with the guild I say again, why post?  "If you can't say nothin' nice" and all that.  Generally I ignore it but as I'm aware of your personal OOC issues which have -nothing- to do with Blades RP, it pisses me off that you'd claim it was our RP you found "subpar."  The Blades taught me and plenty of other RPers how to RP, they were like a family OOCly for a good long time, good RPers and nice people.

Your attitude doesn't justify the posting of your remarks, end of story.  You can "nice it up" all you like but at the end of the day, you're angry and plastering it here, and it should not be here.

Cerik, I think this might be another one of those posts where you just walk in, act negative, cause drama and then say that you weren't negative. Seriously, if everyone read what you said as something negative and mean, it probebly is negative and mean.

Good luck with the event, it was a shame to leave the blades as they were an incredible guild and I met some fantastic people many of which translated into lovely RL friends.

I regret the disintegration after leaving, but all things have to end at some point, and running it was practically a full time job that was cutting too much from my real life towards the end.

The Blades was my first role-playing guild, and even though I was just a silly retarded bar-tending elf, I had great fun with them while my time with them lasted. They didn't judge me for playing something a little different, they had fun with it. The allowed me as a noob to grow in a fun, active environment.

Dear Cerik,

Pretending to run a bar is still a thousand times better role-play then pretending to run Ironforge. The Blades brought a certain life to Stormwind that has now gone out. Even if it wasn't the brightest light at times, that light was special, and a delightful addition to the city's atmosphere.

The hugeness of your terrible attitude and ego is so gargantuan that I lack the insults.

Blades for Hire = One of the best, most open-minded, most successful, most contributing RP guilds this server has had. Where you got the idea that their RP was poor all across the board, or that they didn't have a concept (mercenaries, y'know, that whole "BLADES. HIRE." thing in the name...), I don't know. Even though I don't play on DB any more, I'm sad to know they're gone as in their prime they provided a hell of a lot of RP and atmosphere to SW, and plenty of community events (King of the Steel Boot was some of the best tournament RP I've had).

But haters gonna hate. o/
