Would be an idea to of course host a community event at the time of the world event.

It is hard to know where solid lore and lore-for-the-hell-of-it start and finish. But the main WoW site would suggest that the Day of the Dead, and the ability to converse with the dead on that day through offerings at their graves, is a real lore 'thing'. Maybe this year some people could pull up some old, dead, characters and talk to their old buddies?
I personally rather like the idea of my old main telling his living friends how he disagrees with every decision that they have made over the past year ^^

It seems Day of the Dead has been reduced to a single day now, isntead of being two days like previous years.

Causalities.
A small group of soldiers were ambushed by Kor'kron, their lives were lost and there was no survivors, now someone has to break the news to their families. You can have someone acting as their mother and father, or as a girlfriend/wife.

Earth day.
A gathering of druids to show of their skills in the ways of nature, help healing scorched lands, sick creatures and heal the corrupted grounds of the north and south.

I've got a basic story of when Visceril acquired his IC weapons,
but I've never roleplayed this out. Surely I'm not the only one?
So my loose idea is this:

Weaponology
Can either be set in the past or present. Gather some friends and
roleplay the time when you finally tracked down that warp-stalker
and brought it to its knees, removing his tail and carving it into a
boned dagger. Weapons, trinkets or whatever could be used.

So far, I have events ready for the Northern Rebellion to have the siege last for 4 weeks.

Edit: Give or take a bit, due to events and RP being made to speed/slow down things.

Hm, 4 weeks is qiute long, seeing as we RP'ers have about 2 weeks attention span.

That's becouse this is happeing in horde lands and for most them there they got no homes to go to after they get drunk! Their budies are getting executed without trials by kro'kron and everybody knows those pesky undead are plotting to raise you after you die!

But mostly due to it being their more regular RP already as it is.

How about a pilgrimage to the dead paladins? Involving a long walk to Uthers grave especially.

Yep. We've had the Uther's Tomb pilgramage going every year for at least 7 years now or so.

Also the Battle of Shattrath pilgramage/memorial, which has done 2 years.

That was the last one which was on Sunday 25th August. So not that long ago, for the other thing i forgot already.

Bandits of Westfal
There could be a large group of bandits in Westfal stealing supplies from the poor people there, its a basic idea that might have been used before, but its usually awesome to fight against bandits, saving the people and showing them that they can trust Stormwind will protect them if it really matters.

Swamp of Sorrows
I feel like we haven't done much in the swamp the short time we were there, so why not use the swamp of sorrows a little bit, maybe something sad can happen there. A sad story or something. Take the wars there for example, countless battles has happened there, maybe even the Horde and Alliance can meet here again?

Minor Disease
A small disease could start running around somewhere creating panic and pain. And lets not solve this the easy way! *Glares down the Disciples of Light.*

Smithing contest.
Lets see who can become the best smith in the city! Most description and correct way to do it. The one that does it the most realistic and best sword wins!

Bomb!
Some Horde ninjas has managed to plant a bomb in Stormwind, find it and defuse it before it is to late! :O

Tea shop.
How about some normal things for once, the grand opening of a tea shop, whats special about it you might think? Its opened by dwarfs.

IDEA EXPLOSION!

Insane Asylum / Rehabilitation prison.
It says itself, Rehabilitating bad people who commits crime, we could do it the old fashion way with Torture, or we could do it another way with talking it out, learning the person that there is another way to gain money and fame.

Give me your thoughts with this idea please, I would love to hear the rest of this idea if you decide to pick it up.

That asylum thing does sound rather interesting. Not sure what to act as by then, most likely one of the patients.
