Wulfgnar: [Childhood] Empty Wulfgnar: [Childhood]

Wulf was eight years old and already had spent a year living with his new Step-Mother, Laurel. During the 12 months he was introduced to his strict disciplined life that was taught by her, His weekly routine consisted of training, studying and solitude. Solitude would bring spiritual enlightenment and freedom from the structure of social status, it would develop self awareness and self examination so one can be fully aware of what they are capable of. This will also keep the pure maintenance of faith. Perhaps at a young age this was something Wulf couldn't quite understand but this was his new life now and had to adjust. He spent 8 months of solitude in his room, even his food and water were brought to him in silence from a servant.

Wulf's room was circular, books piled at one side of the room and his blanket and pillow on the other side. He was confined to the room that was built at the side of the large house, out of the way from any social activity but did not contain a door or a window and only a frame where a door probably would've been. There was no door to confine the child, he would be free to leave whenever he wanted but he knew the moment he would step out of that room that he would shame his step-mother and be worthless. Hanging from the door frame was a small bell attached to a piece of string that wired down to a room beneath.
As soon as the sun rose the bell was rung, a piercing sharp sound and Wulf had to be out of bed immediately. He climbed out and started tidying away the blanket, rolling it up and placing it to one side. His eye's were barely open but he knew the routine well and tiredness was no excuse for sleeping in late. He paced up and down the 5 feet of floor space he was allocated, back and forth before pressing up his bare back against the cold stone wall. It was sore and bruised from the beating of the day previous and the cold stones would bring relief to the stinging pain.
Wulf let out a relieved sigh and began to rub his eyes, finally starting to wake up. He looked around his room, some sunlight started to appear between the cracks in the stone which shone a beam of light onto his chest. He reached out to try and grasp it in his hand, his thoughts turning to his dreams of being able to wield the power one day. He smiled and bent down on his knee's so the light would shine on his face, he closed his eyes as he felt the warmth of the light on his skin. After a few moments he then approached the gap to try and look out into the outside, but the blinding light only hurt his eyes and he recoiled in pain. He climbed back down, temporarily blinded in one eye and sat on the ground on a pillow. He reached out for his candle and lit it carefully, he then picked up one of his books and began to recite the prayers within it.
