[A] Letter to Alliance military and militia organizations

[The following letter is sent to the leaders of various Alliance military and militia groups who have a history of fighting in defense of the Alliance.]

From Areyah Conover, Stormwind Minister of Defense.

FRIDAY, June 7th. [30]

To Whom It May Concern,

For the purpose of raising morale, and to recognize those who have acted valiantly in service to the Alliance, it is requested that your organization forwards names of individuals who have, in the last six months of this year, acted with great dedication, merit, valor, and gallantry above and beyond the call of duty. In addition to names, the Stormwind Ministry of Defense asks that you provide a brief description of the individual and the nature of their actions that you believe worthy of recognition.

In particular, you are particularly requested to forward names of:

Those who have perished while serving in the line of duty.
Those who have acted with great heroism and courage in circumstances of extreme danger.
Those who have demonstrated distinguished and meritorious performance while in a position of great responsibility, either in or out of combat.
Those who have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to the Alliance by serving for a length of time above and beyond the call of duty.

Recommendations for promotion are also requested.

Those chosen will be called forward during a to-be-announced ceremony, where their deeds and heroism will be announced to all present and where they will be decorated as fitting for their great service.

((Apologies to any guild not included. If you aren't in the list, it's because either A) I forgot you, B ) you appear to be inactive, C) you're a non-militant/non-Alliance entity (Blooming Lotus, Wardens of the Blade, etc), or D) you're a covert operations group to whom public recognition wouldn't be proper (Section Seven, War Sect, etc). Those not on the list are certainly free to attend the event as members of the audience when it happens, though!

I hope we get some replies to this. Having an awards ceremony is something we really want to do, but it won't work if we don't have anyone to reward.

Not really, At times they've been one of the only guard guilds around, they're a Holy/Militant/guard guild. S'easy to know.

Disciples have a long history with fighting for the Grand Alliance since vanilla. We aren't slowing the legal system down, we are halting cultists from creating a corrupt illegal system. Wink

It doesn't have to be one of those events. It can be anything, if that thing benefited the Alliance in some way.

For example, when Areyah and Ralegh took it upon themselves to spend 4 days tracking Azarth and Black Hand co to Kalimdor after the prison escape, sneaking onto the ship at Bogpaddle and nearly recapturing/killing them in Tanaris, that would count as going above and beyond the call of duty.

Remember, include details of the incident that warrants the award. Paragraph or so describing specifically what they did to merit the commendation.
