About that whole Cairne getting killed thing.
I heard that Garrosh had him assasinated and managed to blame it on the Night Elves, managing to get rid of a troublesome faction leader and getting the Tauren into this whole war business with one fell swoop. Of course, I haven't seen any reliable sources to back this up so it might just as well be someone's own speculation.

Basically... as you know the current Thunder Bluff faction is a very recent union of all the tauren tribes. It was Cairne's and the Bloodhoofs initiative to invite them all to their lands and unite as a single nation. The Grimtotems seemed to think this was a rather good idea, as a whole, and most likely forced many other tribes to join.

So.. the reason noone in Thunder bluff has moved against the grimtotems and Magatha is that one: She is part of the reason the tauren have managed to united (no doubt in exchange for a great deal of independence for her tribe).
And two: If someone had Magatha killed... the other tribe leaders would become very nervous, very angry and very disillusioned with the whole idea and the union would break apart within days as leaders who dislike Cairne decide to put some distance between them and him.

So, no. The Taurens aren't dumb. Just complicated (and not logical at all, like humans)

As a Forsaken, I'm pro-Magatha because she was a big proponent of them joining the horde despite being ugly as sin and a bit strange.

In other words, she's forward-thinking and sensible.
