Another sub-forum, balls.

This one could actually serve a decent purpose.

I've seen people usually ask about for things, both in-game & forum, most are related to professions since that's the main way of getting items and the like.

The proposed sub-forum would be initiated to simply put, have a list of people with professions of both factions. People would post what professions they have, and if another member of DefiasRP is searching for something then they are free to look through the list and see whether another role-player has it.

I've often been given discounts from various people in role-playing guilds and this could be just another helpful little corner of DefiasRP.

I'd think this should be kept to the Trade forum, personally. I'm surprised our server's crafters haven't made much in the way of advertising threads there already.

Hmm. Dunno about a subforum but an advertising hoarding (I have in my mind a beautiful forum structure that is in itself "RP"...) for crafters and professions (both "game" and "GHI" etc?).

That actually expands on the idea and makes it better. Yeah, sound's cool Grufftoof. Not limiting it to OOC crafting but an over-all list of people who can craft.

What's better yet is that GHI 'crafting' takes a degree of skill as well.

I'm actually against this. What I'd rather prefer, is if people just continued requesting things as per usual in the trade forums, and people then out of kindness search their guild to see if anyone can craft those items. Like Gruff did for me and my Darkrune Gauntlets.

Or one can put up threads to advertise their professions in the trade forum to be fair. I mean, it is about trade then too, so it would work perfectly fine. I think making more sub-forums of this kind will just end up with us having tons of unused sub-forums (something we're working on getting rid of/activating the inactive forums). Just my two cents.

This would be better in my opinion, yes. I don't have the time right now myself (and don't know when I'll get time as I have 5 different school assignments waiting for me when I get home). But if anyone take it up on them to make a nice thread it can be stickied.

No, that's obviously a joke. I don't have any professions unfortunately but it's good you went up and made the thread Grufftoof. If only there was an announcement board on the forum that would show such new stickied threads popping up so it would be a bit more visible.

Side-question:

Global announcements (that can be seen in every sub-forum/forum). If edited in one location are edited in all locations?

Alternatively, a forum above 'Registration' titled 'Announcements' would not be such a bad idea. A forum where only moderators could post in and that would simply contain general announcements about the forum and any changes/updates.

A thread that could be updated by a select few individuals (volunteers and/or moderators) to simply present a birds eye blog-like view of what's going on in Azeroth on the day they choose to write.

Into this Announcement forum you could put all the important stuff, rules and as well as the mentioned above.

That's all I have in terms of suggestions related both to this, and general suggestions. (avoided making another thread)
