A question for the community.
Hey guys. I RPed on Defias Brotherhood in 2012, before Mists of Pandaria went out. So I have a few questions. I was wondering how RP on DB is now, is it worth renewing my subscription? How is the Rp-PvP? Any wars in Pandaria? Is Horde RP alive? Alliance RP? Thanks in advance.
I'm also not sure if this topic is in the right section, sorry about that.

Both factions RP is still kicking!
One person will tell you different from another, so I'd say the best thing to do is pay for say a months subscription and see for yourself/decide what you think of current DB.

IT IS VERY WORTH IT GIVE ALL YOUR MONEY TO BLIZZARD PLS DO IT M8
All joking aside. If you invest yourself in the community it's very alive, if you sit on the sideline and expect RP you'll be disappointed. Same as it's always been. RP is flourishing for some people and dying for others, like always.
Depends on what you do/how much effort you'll put into doing it.

No, it doesn't. Alliance-side pretty much any attempt at large-scale RP outside of SW won't work and isn't working.

Maybe it's because everybody knows you suck and nobody actually wants to RP with you, Raenmar.

Re: A question for the community.
Thread pretty much sums it up, there's not nearly enough roleplay going on and if it is going on its a circlejerk with everyone disliking everyone
I wouldnt say roleplay on DB is dead, but its cripple to say the least

Yeah, this. You'll find you have two sides of the coin. People like Ix who will argue DBs case even if he was the only one logged in (there are a lot on this side, Ix, not just you!) and people like Raen who hate to see others having fun so have to exclaim that the server is post mortem.Quin wrote:Thread pretty much sums it up, there's not nearly enough roleplay going on and if it is going on its a circlejerk with everyone disliking everyone

You may find random RP, currently it isn't as much as it was 6 months ago and that may just be a patch. The most known guilds aren't as active; very few guilds rp before 20:00. A lot of internal events with the occassional "trying to spark a fire into RP" event coming out every few weeks. The server is still good and you can force yourself into circles to get the most out of it but it isn't flourishing.
What I'm doing to get my RP fix: Use DB as your main hub, if you find RP then RP! If none is there to be found, log an AD alt and just get your fix there. Check a couple hours later if DB has lightened up/keep aware of events.

Prettymuch what Vaell said.
About RP-PvP however, i am not aware of any currently going. During the past year, there have been Battle of Theramore, Jade Fist Campaign and the Arathor Campaign. I have plans to organize a lot of more RP-PvP activity, but that won't happen before September.

I'll reiterate mildly.
I'm on the side that will argue DBs case as long as I'm having fun RPing on DB, because my entertainment is testimony to the fact that RP is going on.

Of course. This is the most obvious solution. TLA, Argent Crusade/Rise, Wild Tempest, Greymane Legacy and the other 2-3 Gilnean guilds before it, all the Ebon guilds, the old naval guild, the Gnomish guilds, and all the old Nelf guilds also failed because I suck.
No. Go back to your sprawling, thriving, casual Stormwind RP.

To the contrary, I hate to see others coming for fun and being sorely disappointed, so I give an honest opinion of the server, as opposed to "my guild is big and I can casual rp with friends sometimes #1 server EU"

Regarding Horde RP:
I have more than enough rp to keep me busy.
Then again 10-11 of the evenings are pre-planned each month on my part:P
I'm even slightly double booked on monday

Alliance side is very very cliquey..you try to join in or find casual or random RP, but how can you when every place you go is either "somebody's" and no strangers allowed?
Kinda alienates people especially newcomers don't you think?

Damn, sorry <_< I'm overly defensive sometimes.
Re: A question for the community.
I somehow chance to drop by random RP pretty much every time I take a walk around Stormwind in character...
That's all I know on the topic, really.

And how is the guild RP doing? Cult of Shadow? Army of the damned? Three Hammers? Anything?

A few active RP guilds, afaik:
- The Forlorn Cartel
- Disciples of the Light
- The Stormwind Regiment
- The Violet City
- Blooming Lotus
- Blades for Hire
- The Black hand (with a strange "a" somewhere)
- The Freelancers
- The three Hammers
- Quite a few that I've forgotten, most likely.

On that topic, don't be scared to pop around Dwarven District's Shady Lady for some RP, no matter who you are. Sure, if you're an Elf or a Draenei we might throw you into the canals, but rp is rp

If I ever return to role-playing a draenei I so want to role-play a criminal and be the one chucking people into the canals instead of being chucked. A draenei enforcer/bodyguard going "Nothink to zee here, tiny hooman. Moove alonk now, yes?"
Glorious.
I actually got chucked in the canals as a draenei once, you know. The chucking. It didn't quite have the desired effect though I think: Thelos loved swimming and if I remember correctly he even thanked the shovers for it.
