That's why the Horde have won as many battles as they have - Lack of gnomes. When you guys attack Arathi highlands, you had gnomes with you! D:

What we need, is more siege tanks, gyrocopters, mortars, spider-tanks, automated sentries, arcane nullifiers and alarm-o-bots

If Alliance would get even a single race as cool as them trolls, things would be in balance. Almost. But as it is...sucks 2 b u guise!

Re: Alliance and Horde are Not Equal for Blizzard (!)
It feels that Blizzard has a knack of producing characters and raising them to prominence which I find absolutely unsympathetic and don't care one bit for.
I can't stand Varian, Garrosh, Thrall, Jaina, Sylvanas, Anduin...
...but I like Taran Zhu, Sky-Admiral Rogers, Master Cho, Gareth Bryne (Westfall guy), Admiral Taylor.

Re: Alliance and Horde are Not Equal for Blizzard (!)
Well, WOTLK was an alliance story-line, with the horde taking a backseat.
Cata was ultimately a horde story-line with Thrall.
so that wasn't that surprising.
they're not favouring one side over the other i believe, they're just telling stories that need more involvement from one side than the other, and that's not so bad.
atleast it wouldn't be if the stories had some more meat to it

"Cos Blizz loves horde more"
Distilled from pages of moaping threads in cata, blizz having a favorite faction is more or less the go to reason of the community* came up with.
* (IE the reason the "pack of insecure, bitter, argumentative bandwagon jumping WoWers constantly mewed forth)

Well, at least they have the Night Elves, who evolved (Mutated?) from Trolls.

Oh, right, since Blood Elves are High Elves, and High Elves evolved from Night Elves, essentially all elves are trolls right?

Don' be gettin' ya knickahs all in a twist, mon.
On a serious note though, I think both factions have gotten lots of love, but like Metzen has pointed out several times, Thrall is his baby, and by far his favourite character in the Warcraft mythos.
That being said, they have promised great things for Alliance aswell, and if you look at the over-all picture, the Alliance have had their moments to shine aswell. Until recently though, they've had more of a defensive role in things, but that seems to be changing.
So I wouldn't put the nail in the coffin just yet.

Well, what bothers me in MoP is that so far on the Horde side, you see different racial leaders getting attention/updates, Garrosh, Baine, Vol'jin, Elf guy.
While on the Alliance, currently it are mostly only Humans. Varian, Jaina and Anduin and some minor updates for others. And okay, Vareesa in 5.2 I think, but I also consider that as well, she isn't a racial leader, and would consider it more as belf lore.
But perhaps those updates are yet to come in other MoP patches, which I hope.

That's just Blizz giving the Horde love so they can't cry (or cry so hard) favoritism when Orgrimmar becomes besieged.

^ I agree with that. Malfurion and Tyrande saw some attention in Cataclysm but people pretty much forgot about the Dwarves and Draenei.
But on the other hand Goblins don't even have a leader.

Blizzard do favour Orcs and Humans, that's a given. That's down to the fact that all other races came after (in the games, not lore).
As for factions, like Amaryl said, I think it consistently changes expansion from expansion, patch from patch.

Just wait till Tirion and the Crusade start kicking Sylvanas' ass. She is in bad need of some righteous asskicking!

Re: Alliance and Horde are Not Equal for Blizzard (!)
BC had a entire zone basically dwarven in Outlands (Shadowmoon Valley), considering the major alliance questhub is a Wildhammer Stronghold fending of the demonic forces.
WotLK was pretty much a Dwarf/Light/Troll expansion, considering how much the Titan-stuff, troll ruins and their animalistic gods, not to mention the vast numbers of undead you had to put down again.
Cataclysm brought some Dwarven love too, with more instances in good old BRD and the re-opened Grim Batol, interact more with Explorers league (sadly at the cost of Magni and Dun Garok, Bael Modan etc).
I wouldn't say we got forgotten. More like we step aside a bit and let the others shine through a bit.

You're right, I just remembered the questline in WotLK where the Bronzebeard brothers are finally reunited. That was awesome, I'm glad it happened before Magni died.

Cata brought some love for the Wildhammers (my favourite questlines of the expansion) and a revamped Dun Morogh too.
Still, more dwarves means more blue-sided awesomeness. And that's never a bad a thing.

Nelves get loads of lore, it is just not the lore they want.
