"Neutral" Usegroup.

Greetings Defias Brotherood!

You may notice that my name has turned black. You are probably wondering what it means.

It is quite simple. Between the red that stands for the Horde and the Blue that stands for the Alliance, members of DefiasRP will not have the option of declaring your neutrality with Black!

With the advent of Mists of Pandaria, the ammount of neutral characters has taken a rise now that the Pandaren are a playable race. The neutral usergroup isn't just for neutral Pandaren, though. Any user who wishes to express his neutrality on the conflict between the Horde and Alliance is welcome to join. This could include Argent Cursaders, druids of the Cenarion Circle, Goblin Tradesmen and much more.

It appears "Registering" overrules it, even though it should be lower on the priority list. That should be easy to fix though.

Shouldn't Purple be between Red and Blue?

That would imply that to be "Neutral" is to be halfway between the Alliance and the Horde on the spectrum, whereas Black implies that you are not even on the spectrum to begin with, which is what lies at the heart of true neutrality: rejecting the false dichtonomy of "Red versus Blue" and not acknowledging to it by finding some iffy middleground halfway.

Joined 'cause coin and bitches is the only thing that matters for the Doc, fuck a war.

Well...I'm glad to see a new usergroup that will hopefully keep up with "applications."

I've applied to one or two usergroups without any response. Please don't let that happen to yours, okay?

Sounds legit. Consider yourself approve, 'cuz "Mother fuck a war".

It seems that, every time you post, you are automaticly added to the "Registering" usergroup, making it impossible to unsubscribe proper. I keep having to unsubscribe after every post, which is already starting to grate on my patience.

I'll ask the mods if they can do something about this.

Ah, that seems strange. Being a Member should take precedent over Registering, hopefully they can solve it, so we can wear our sleek black usernames with pride, brotha.

The issue with the black of neutral being overwritten by the green of registering has been resolved.

As I have come to understand, the groups on DefiasRP are arranged in a strict hierarchy, with some usergroups taking precedence over others: if you want your name to turn black, you will possibly have to leave some usergroups that are ranked higher than it.

Seems that being in the VIllain and Outlaw overrides the colour too, gunna try unsubbing and resubbing to see if this is the case.

Edit: After unsubbing from villains, became green. Unsubbed from registering, still green.

I believe this is how it works, yes. Not sure if it also depends on which group you sign on first and last, but I don't believe so.

Either way, soon when I have some more time to spare I'll have a look at the groups, see which are active or inactive and prob for interest whether or not to keep a group. Have also considered making a poll about whether or not small groups (well all groups except Alliance, Horde and Neutral) should have colors.

A fresh, critical look at the usergroups and what they mean for these forums would be a swell idea! From what I have seen, most folks now use them as a means to get the color they want. Fewer and fewer use them to denote their main position in the role-playing spectrum. I have been lead to understand that, at their time of introduction, the groups functioned to give certain playes access to certain hidden forums, is that still the case? If so, I do not think this function is used anymore much and has long since made way for a more empovrished understanding of the usergroups as being "The way to get a fancy color". In that sense, I do not think the users will appreciate it if you take away the color of their choosing.

Some groups are tied to their own hidden forum and some aren't, yeah.

As for the colours, yeah. I've still got the Duskwood colour because I like it (and because Ledgic was born there before it ended up as Duskwood).
