Ariana: Defeated Lions and Lonely Foxes
Just a brief snippet of a story, very RP-based with loads of background and story behind the events. A kickstarter for more rp and character development of sorts too I believe. As a summary: Ariana (the Fox) tries to outrun heartache after Melan (The Lion) leaves her/others behind.
Each breath she took felt like fire searing trough her lungs while she was pushing herself to keep running, her body fatigued and screaming in exhaustion for the girl to relent and take a break. But Ari did not halt, wanting the pain of her aching muscles to drown out the pain she was experiencing emotionally. The tears she had shed had barely dried on her reddened and swollen face, her green eyes puffy from the endless crying, all she wanted was a way to not feel miserable.
Ariana had already beaten her own knuckles to bloodied pulp on a tree, jabbing and punching at it brutally to find the same determination to train herself like she had these past weeks. Instead she had ended up losing herself to the sorrow, driving herself to overcome the stabbing pain from her chest by making her bones crack and her fingers swell from sheer force behind every punch delivered to the innocent bark of the tree. And when she finally could no longer lift her arms she started to kick.
It was simply not enough, she needed more than the distracting pain, needed to entirelly wear herself out in the hope that some state of peace could take over. Pass out or simply forget because she was too tired. Now running from one side of the forest to another, like she had the past twenty or thirty minutes, she felt that exhaustion finally catch up with her. To no avail to the pain, it was still there, still wrenching her heart and having it throb with each beat in a constant reminder of what had happened only a few hours ago.
Like her hopes and dreams had come shattering down on her, falling and crumbling she fell. Tripping over a branch when her feet no longer wished to move and carry her further away, landing in the damp grass and soil she didn't even bother to move and get back up.
Ari's body had given up, she had pushed it's limits further than she had before and now it had entirelly collapsed. Energy drained and every nerve and muscle searing from strain put in it, protesting against the girl's forceful excercise to push on. Her eyes stared into nothing for a long while, nothing but silence and her own choking and wheezing breathing. The despair written over her face when rolling over to her stomach and begin pushing onto her hands and knees. The effort having the small frame shake and tremble, not wanting to move. Unable to go any further.
That's how she remained, pushed onto her knees and her torso hunched over with her arms sliding across her stomach to hug herself, rocking gently back and forth while the tears she had tried to escape caught up to her again.
Miserable in her own fate she cursed at herself repeatedly, sprouting out whimpered pleas to the Ancestors as the endless stream of tears poured down from her cheeks and into the grass. Leaving a sight of a weeping and broken small being in the middle of the forest. The sunlight barely touching the area around her, hindered by the canopy over her head where the leaves had started to shift colours. The green turning to a deep amber and brown, mixed with some yellow in the dying of the last summer days. Just like she herself felt that the warmth and sun had been taken away, leaving herself withering with a cold lonely winter waiting upon her doorstep. Blaming her own failure and incompetence, blaming her weakness and repeatedly her inability to be strong.
Ariana stirred, fists pushed down to have her torso rise upwards to lift her gaze to the sky, words leaving her lips in nothing but a whisper.
“Come back...midor...yer all I...w-wan'...c-come...b-back...”
She threw herself forward, pounding both her battered and bruised fists down into the grass with a howling cry. Using all the breath her tired body could muster, all the power of her emotions bursting out in that moment before fully crashing down. No more sobbing, no more words leaving her. A sorrowfull silence while she sat kneeled inbetween the trees on her own.

Yes, I'm the dickhead in this story. On a serious note, though... This is so sad! Well done.
