Re: The vent thread
Downing pure jägermeister and vodka on top of shots and other assorted bombs seemed like a good idea at the time... my stomach disagrees this morning.

Just the seat and chain? They usually steal the whole bike. I had four or five stolen while I was attending university.

I dont know where to get a new seat from now bah. I knew getting a bike with a quick release clamp thingy was gonna be a bad idea

So, one of things that hold your glasses to the bridge of your nose fell off mine this morning.
Just fell off out of nowhere.
Motherfucker.

Local bicycle shop should be able to help you out. They usually sell seats. Be happy that they didn't steal your wheels!

And now you've got a horrible bit of metal poking into the corner of your nose/eye and every slight adjustment to your glasses feels like it's cutting open your face with a cheese grater...

the idiot tried to steal the wheels tho cause both the axils for the quick release clamp thing are missing lol. I think they got really frustrated and stole the bike seat cause they couldnt manage to steal anything else

I don't know about Europe, but in North America, if you go to an optometrist's that also sells glasses, they're usually able to repair that. I think it's about 5$ dollars here.
One of the screws on the outside edge of my lenses broke, last year. My landlady (who asked me to move the car out of the drive while I waited for her...and who laughed her ass off when she realized I couldn't do it since I couldn't see!) took me to an optometrist I'd never even been to and they replaced the screw at no charge AND put it in for me.

Re: The vent thread
This is why English Lit's curriculum needs to drastically change. I remember how many people were put off by the fact you're analysing books that, though extremely well written, are pretty fucking dull to a young person. I had to study Jane Eyre and I couldn't read past the first chapter at 16, I hated it. I ended up reading a synopsis and winging it on the exam date - came out with a high B, where as if it was a book I could get into, I would have aced it.Raenmar wrote:Compare the presenation of feeling in 'Great Expectations' and FUCK YOU

Withering Heights, Jane Eyre, Great Expectations yada yada yada. The only decent books I ever studied in English were 'Of Mice and Men', 'To Kill a Mockingbird', 'Animal Farm' and 'Othello' (only because I already knew the book due to doing a drama piece alongside it). If they threw in some Song of Ice and Fire or something just as popular, you'd have a lot more people wanting to get into English Lit and then you can save the crappier parts for college.

Well that is kinda hard to say Vaell. Some would like Great expectations and not like animal farm for example (Personally I think animal farm wasnt the best orwell work to read).
I Liked Great Expectations personally Dickins was da baws.
