Well, the majority of people vent off their petty problems which are often funny. A few exceptions throw in their deep, personal issues, which - in my opinion - spoils the thread. Maybe a seperate thread named "Psychiatrist corner" or "Agony Aunt Area." should be created for that kind of stuff!

This is how the thread usually goes, using the emoticons for my reactions...

- I missed my bus and then it splashed me with a puddle! Smile
- Bloody pissing me off. They keep winding me up! Rolling Eyes
- Bloody weather here, causing me to run late! cheers
- There won't be another Die Hard film! Sad
- Student issue/First world problem. Laughing
- The servers are down. Mad
- I've suffered an injury at home or in the workplace. Twisted Evil
- Minor political issue! Surprised
- My entire family was just murdered................. Shocked

Little bit far.

If anybody with the ability to do so agrees with Vaell on this thread being specifically for -funny- issues only, feel free to delete my post.

That little fucking bitch, I discovered this morning, ate most of my pizza leftovers and helped herself to more of my goddamn food in the fridge.

UNACCEPTABLE.

I'm a fucking student with a tight grocery budget, she can't just fucking help herself to whatever the hell is in the fridge. Dumb...you know.

I just don't think the social part of a forum built around world of warcraft role-players is the best place to deal with serious issues. I haven't been a dick about it, I'm just saying it's a little too personal. A perfect example of venting would be Farelin's current problems.

Farelin, from now on - just don't flush when you go for a poo. That'll psych her out.

You are. So stop.

It takes a lot for some people to speak up about anything. This thread (and forum to an extent) give(s) people a place to speak.

Keep it as a place to vent your spleen (which I guess Vaell, you just did, so you're on topic at least). But keep in mind no one needs to be a dick.

I haven't said anything that is harsh or offensive, I've simply stated that this is a role-play forum and I think dark, personal topics are quite inappropriate. A good but dark example (no intention to offend)
Spoiler:

I haven't shown any disrespect, Monrena. Quite the opposite, I could have just said what Vangrel did yesterday and been blunt about it but I'm actually giving a suggestion that I find fair. It'd be nice to split the two parts up.

Sorry, Vaell. I have to side with Drustai and Grufftoof. There are plenty of game-related sections of this forum, the General section isn't all about role-play stuff. No one's here to dictate on what's appropriate to vent about when you need to get something off your chest.

Well people aren't gonna post happy things in the vent thread, are they? But yeah, that sucks, Ix. Hope you get to see your sister some time.

There's plenty of depressing stuff here, to be honest. Don't know why you decided to take issue with Ix's post.

To add more unfunny depressing things, in the space of two weeks I've descended from being happy, motivated and optimistic to I can't be arsed. I can't be arsed with these shitty exams, I can't be arsed to run a guild when my officers don't even bother logging on, I can't be arsed to actually do much. I've fallen back to browsing DefiasRP and the realm forums all day, looking for some drama to add fuel to, and just tabbing out in BGs. I feel like shit.

I'm never motivated for long, just in sudden bursts of great ideas and optimism, and I do what I can then sink back down to this. I've been told I might be depressed, but I sort of think I might be bipolar. Being assigned a permanent therapist in the next two months, and I'll also be tested for Asperger's which I've been told I have some symptoms of, but I doubt I have it.

This probably is too personal, but #yolo.

I was pushing it more because of drama related around personal things being brought up lately. A seperate thread was just a suggestion. I wasn't disrespectful about it, if it doesn't happen - it doesn't happen.

But if we're to vent about things; people who deem themselves good agony aunts. Monrena bringing it up reminded me of it - no personal attacks intended on that point, a lot of people do it after all, especially online - I have a friend who used to give about 3 people, on a regular basis, relationship advice despite never having a girlfriend. Hate it. I don't mind when people give others their two cents, but they'd keep coming back to him and their relationships just continously failed.

I like all this deep personal sharing that's going on!!! Smile think it's great that people feel like this forum is a nice open and welcoming environment to sure and personally I greatly encourage it!

Ixi, Im really sorry about the whole deal with your sister, I can understand how that might be very upsetting Sad you just have to keep reminding yourself that what happened ultimately wasn't up to you. you did want to be there for your sister but circumstances just dictated that you couldnt! it has nothing to do with you at all, the fact that you're upset about it just goes to show what a great brother you are if anything! hopefully the whole deal with your parents will resolve too :/ if not though, then it's their problem not yours.

here's a heart for everyone in need of some love

I love you

Even though you might not have meant to say this in a disrespectful way you've no idea how it looks, or can be taken. To be frank I'm shocked to see such a reply to something like that. Be more careful about how you reply to certain things.

And I'm sorry to hear, I can imagine that it feels like a stab to the heart.

So here's a small one from me, my dogs got epelepsia, he's on medicine and now it's become way worse, having one or two seizures a day for the past week, luckily he seems to be calming again, but if it happens again i'll have to put him down Sad

And to comment on Raenmar, that stuff usually comes with being a teenager, you go up and down all the time, sure some people seem to be constantly on top of the world but thats usually just a mask. Anyway, don't worry too much about what you might have and try to live your life! Mostly thinking about what could be wrong makes it so much worse :p

My go!

Well, there... No, well... There might... No. No, actually. I'm pretty content. Though I wish I could make out with my handsome Spaniard sooner.

I'll probably regret saying such a thing when in a week's time I'm crying because I was rejected. Yes, sounds like me. Prepare for tears on WhatsApp, Shaelyssa.

Hope he gets better, I've also had to have my dog put down in the past because I didn't notice her illness soon enough, still blame myself for it.

Sadly there's not much you can do to cure it, especially not when it is already that late in the sickness. The medicines only slows the progression of the sickness, but... I'm sorry. Had to put down one of the cats for the same disease, it just kept running into stuff to try get away from pain inside its head.

-.- Oh god...

There are times when I just want to grip my Mother, shake her, and tell her to listen to me. I know she means well, and I love her to pieces, but jesus christ.

Mailing shit out here is free if it's under 2kg, and then it arrives by plane within the next week. I asked her to follow a guide I gave her to give me a chance of rebuilding and repairing my PC. She got someone else to follow the guide, which isn't a problem, and the guy even did me a few copies of the repair disk so if the first didn't work, I could try again.

Brilliant! Send me it ASAP please Mother, and make sure it's under 2kgs because if it's more, it comes by ship and takes 2 months to arrive.

... "Well, I sent the package, and since when do I ever send a package under 2kg? I wanted to add a lot of stuff to keep you happy and occupied out there."

Mum! I'll be gone by the time it bloody arrives! You could have split it up into several packages for christs sake if you really wanted to send me a load of crap, but now I don't have a chance of receiving any of it!

Never get into a relationship if you actually need it.

Be comfortable in the company of yourself to be good company to others.

You are the only person in your life you ever should depend on.

The vent thread - Page 29 Empty Re: The vent thread

Post by Guest Sun Jan 20, 2013 12:01 pm

So my next door neighbour came to his house at like 3 o clock in the morning and decides it's time to throw a house party with lots of loud music. Naturally my dad wanted them to stop. He knew the parents well, so he thought he'd go round the back garden and ask them nicely. No luck, they just shouted back abuse. So my dad called the police, to get them to stop. Simple as really, we thought it was the end of that.

Unfortuantly it wasn't as I woke up at 6 o clock this morning to sounds of shouting. Really, really loud aggresive shouting, and it wasn't from my family. Ran downstairs wondering wtf was going. Door was wide open, went out to see some guy a used know slightly from childhood who lives about 10 doors down, holding onto my dad in a frenzy and threatening to kill him, with my dad litterally shouting back "i have a heart condition" and trying to get him to get out of -our- garden. To put it in perspective, my dad is like 5'6 in height, overweight, unhealthy, while this guy cannot be under 6'3 and was pretty built.

Eventually, his friends managed to get him out of the garden, but after alot of shouting and threats. Apparently they'd egged the house because we called the police and my dad obviously wanted them to stop. Bear in mind, these people aren't exactly you're obvious dodgy thugs, but seemingly normal, everyday 22 year olds. As he was being pulled away he kept shouting threats. I didn't sleep much after, I just stayed by the window in case he came back. My dad managed to ring his dad(who doesn't like my dad at all) and get him to go get his son. The police came again, though it was a noise complaint so I'm almost certain they don't know anything about what the guy did. They just drove down our street and back up.

Now it's morning and it seems like my parents might not be calling the police to tell them what the guy did. I found a few of their facebooks(there's a small part of me that wants to add them out of hilarity since they saw me there), but other than that, I have no idea what I should do right now.

Bad night to say the least

EDIT: If anyone has a problem with this story being too serious, kindly fuck off
