If you want to play that card you may aswell shut up because I don't recall ever telling you anything about cross-realm things.
So don't quite me next time you intend to be bitter. This is no place for that.

I never said you did.

DB is full of bitter people. Just most of them joined PvP guilds.
Re: Cross-realm, it's a thing
Hmm, yes, you got me there. I did even read that part, but that wall of complaining made me forget about it, I guess. So that's doable and might even solve some location issues for our Inn, but my Monk levelling will prolly have to wait 'till 2013 then, at least if one doesn't level purely through dungeons/BGs.Lini wrote:But Pandaria zones will be high pop and thus won't be CRZ...

Ghost Alliance, eh? The best kind! Also...
This, along with that SMC remark, puzzles me a bit, as I recall reading some time ago that capitals wouldn't be affected by CRZ. But since I've read about players from PvP realms messing around in PvE realms as well, I guess that Blizzard really needs to fix something at least.Gilran wrote:Ironforge is cross-realm as well..

Just got a few nice encounters with people from Venture Co realm, some RP guilds that are based in IF. Just have to see how we now share our even more limited space.

Ironforge... limited space? It has more empty buildings than any other city!Cid wrote:Just got a few nice encounters with people from Venture Co realm, some RP guilds that are based in IF. Just have to see how we now share our even more limited space.

They really should look into a rp-flag. Just imagine /rp and all OOC disappears.Feydor wrote:why didnt they just make this an optional feature, like toggling pvp on and off

Re: Cross-realm, it's a thing
So I woke up and did some more reading! Seems DB doesn't have it as 'bad' as some other realms. Not all around, at least. Personally I don't have any trouble with competition amongst herbs and nodes, as I've never cared that much for professions. Mah concerns about PvP I already mentioned about. That could even turn-out being fun, if right things go well. RP might go good and bad as well. More OOC morons appearing or not, or just plain RP morons/elitists also appearing or not.
Not sure at all how that ends up, because how the whole CRZ thingy works is still a bit of a mystery to me. Does some "CRZ" text appear in map or in the corner of your screen? And if so, you don't have any options to just stay on your own realm, so to say, but have to hop around with players from other realms 'till...there's so many people from your own realm present that the CRZ zone gets lifted or what the hellbrglrglgl?

Re: Cross-realm, it's a thing
Just thought I would say hello from the Wardens of Azeroth on TVC. I am one of their officers, and we are looking forward to some RP interactions with the peeps from DB.
Obviously there are alot of possible issues with the cross-realm feature, as far as HQs and so on go. So if we have any problems, I am sure we can get it sorted quickly and quietly, do let me know if you have any issues with our RPers or HQ cross-overs or some such thing. The Wardens are mainly based in and around Ironforge, I do believe that some of us have met members from the Three Hammers already.
I am quietly optimistic about the cross-realm feature in it's possibilities for cross-realm RP. I do hope we can make it work for the best

Re: Cross-realm, it's a thing
Right, after some testing between accounts on different servers I've figured this one out.
The person in the group with the highest iLevel or Level is the person who gets to be on Their server, at least if you're only 2 people in the group. It is possible that if there's a larger amount of people from another realm, that- that server will be the one selected however I deem this unlikely.
And it appears only the most high populated cities are instanced, meaning that cities like Darnassus, Undercity, and Ironforg (tested IF and working) etc fully allows you to bring in your friends from other places. This also means anyone who feels like being a bit dependant on others could potentially have two characters with the same name of different classes.

They explained exactly how they work, but they work absolutely nothing like how they said they did. It's even more retarded than it originally seemed.

Re: Cross-realm, it's a thing
Yeah they've explained "how it works" but actually they haven't given any clear information on how it actually works. Nor does it actually seem to work unless you invite people over by your own initiate
Cross-realm does Not work in Orgrimmar and SW, this I've tested myself. Could cross-realm from Loch Modan all the way to the SW gate in the Tram, once we stepped through the portal we got seperated.

This function made my HS fail because the "cross-realm zone hadn't been initiated" or something. The CD, however, was there. This function now officially sucks.

Re: Cross-realm, it's a thing
I personally think this is one of the best functions to hit the game for ages. DB automatically shares some zones with TVC, you don't have to do anything. A realm that isnt linked you need to party with someone on the realm.
Fantastic RP opportunity, please dont make them unwelcome.

Alright, some realms you still can't invite to, but can be invited from. It's a bit odd.
You can invite From Sporregar to Defias, but not the other way around.
It indeed seems we're sharing with Venture Co automatically, odding Sporregar out for some reason.
Unpartied, both characters ended up together without any use of party function.

"The Wandering Isle, the pandaren starting area, will also not have CRZ enabled at launch, though we’ll have multiple instances of this zone running as needed for each realm, in an attempt to prevent overcrowding."
CRZ is also a great anti-mass-camp, anti-server lag, anti-crash feature. Doesn't look so bad to me. Yes there are bugs, but it's still very fresh tech. It will get fixed, it will be improved and i am sure it will be enjoyable... at least on my part.

If I had to guess it has something to do with DB and TVC both being in the same battlegroup.Coppersocket wrote:Alright, some realms you still can't invite to, but can be invited from. It's a bit odd.
