Cross-realm, it's a thing

Sonitus and I saw someone from Venture Co today wondering around in DB Silvermoon!
After some testing it seems you can indeed change realm with either Real ID(My AD character got send to DB).

It most likely works that with the lowest populated realm you will get send to, you have no control over who goes where.

Just... letting you know. This might be interesting! At least you can quest together now.

I saw that!! I thought I was going crazy! But yep, there was a little lowbie dude with The Venture Co marked by his name.

You don't get forced into another server if your one is heavily populated, do you? That would be more of a disruption!

We should rp it like the alternate reality in Fringe !

A matter of clarification: as far as I'm aware, whilst we share CRZs with other RP-PvP realms, inviting a friend from another realm-type (PvP, PvE, RP) allows them to share your realm, right? At least that would seem to explain the visitors from Outland-PvP last night in Durotar.

Would that be correct? If so, it certainly opens the prospect of collaboration with RPers on RP-PvE servers like Argent Dawn and Earthen Ring.

Yes, but you will get send to the lowest population realm, if I am correct. I got send from AD to DB, no matter if I got invited or have invited.

I met two goblins from Argent Dawn last night. They were wondering where all the naked Blood elves were, and were determined that they had somehow ended up in another dimension when their rocket crashed!
I told them it was just the fumes they were breathing...

I only see CRZ as a way to fuck up server lore.. Thank god only you elves have to deal with it.

Must say that I am surprised about AD being linked with DB. As I understood it we were supposed to be only linked with RPPvP-realms

Two realmtypes smashed together, so we get all types here (sadly). RP realms, RP-PvP Realms, PvP realms... all connected. Explains why some griefer guilds transfer to RP-PvP realms from Outland, just for example.

As far as I could tell it was whoever was group lead.

Rather embarrassing when I had no idea, was sitting quietly in a very serious RP situation, a RealID friend asked me for a group and suddenly I vanished from the RP xD

Myeah, this is bit of a bummer to me as well. Can do with some more WPVP, but if it's dozen people from other PvP realms kicking you down constantly while you're levelling (or trying to) in Pandaria...urgh. But I guess one has to learn to live with it, since it isn't optional. Unless I've misunderstod the concept completely. Too tired to look more closely into it now...

Edit; Like, is the system smart enough to only show players of your own faction in the cross-realm zone, or both factions? Or...yeah, too tired, just imagine what my next question could possibly be. I'm going to zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

So does this show -everyone- in the zones for chosen servers? As an example, everyone from the chosen server-merges currently in Redridge Mountains can see one another?

So instead of sleeping just yet, I did take a peek at official forums...and by Brann's beard, if the situation didn't seem effed up. 85s from other realms ganking/camping the hell out of every low levels on zones around whole Azeroth and without giving you any chance to opt in or out of this "good ol WPvP" mess? Nice going there, Blizzard. Guess I'll visit Pandaria sometime during 2013...

I mean, like already said, I don't mind some WPvP and I was there during vanilla and took part in Hillsbrad skirmishes, but I'm definetly not looking forwards to any camp/gankfests. Or not looking forwars to any potential extra OOCers poppin' into RP events either, even if that's less of a bother than griefers.

Mneh, maybe they'll come into their senses and at least introduce that "Switch CRZ on/off" option at some point.

But Pandaria zones will be high pop and thus won't be CRZ...
