[04/09/12] [Mild Gore/Violence] Council of Stormwind - Aldric and Naz'aya's battle - Illusion

As requested I said I'd throw this up on the rumour mill and a written account of the events for those that missed it or couldn't see it
properly at the time due to Council spam. Enjoy! If you have any questions ask them here.

The events as followed appeared as an illusionary projection within the petitioners chamber. A foul trick by the witch Naz'aya to host
her public execution.




The Image of Naz'aya Serpentine and Aldric Essalus Helmfrid suddenly appear from evanescence, poised facing one another. Their forms
are strangely intangible, the likes of illusion. There is a hint of the location of a dark forest surrounding them. They seem stanced for combat.

[Faint Echo] Aldric Essalus Helmfrid: What is..- No matter!

The Image of Aldric Essalus Helmfrid rises with haste from the ground. A coarse groan resonates through his throat as shadowy smoke
trails from his form. He lunges at Naz'aya sword-first, a faint illumination of the Holy Light thrums to life about the blade.

The Image of Naz'aya Serpentine throws forth her staff to parry the on-coming strike, batting his sword to the left. She releases a shrill
cackle as she brings around the head of the staff before his face. It ignites with fel energy and emits a bursting belch of green flame!

The Image of Aldric Essalus Helmfrid's eyes widen in horror, a split second reaction throwing him to feint to the left. The bolt of searing
fel-flame roaring to ignite through thin air. Stanced ready almost immediately he sends his booted foot toward her in a kick.

The Image of Naz'aya Serpentine staggers forth, mis-balance causes the jet of fel flame from her staff to tarnish the ground black. She
pivots on the spot once catching balance; hand out, a serpent flying loose from her sleeve, maw open. Shooting to clamp around
Helmfrid's throat.

[Faint Echo] Aldric Essalus Helmfrid: Nghr! No..-

The Image of Aldric Essalus Helmfrid grunts in horrid surprise. He collapses to his knees, dropping the torch of runeblade to the ground
with a clatter. Reaching up to his throat he claws madly at the thrashing serpent, blood seeping from the bite coating his neck crimson.

[Faint Echo] Naz'aya Serpentine: You have played the wrong game, Inquisitor.. Shame, I saw potential. Though my hungry friends
in the shadowrealm don't mind. I haven't fed them in a while.

The Image of Naz'aya Serpentine grins with wicked glee. The serpent clinched around Aldric's throat suddenly ignites with a foul dark
flame at the flick of her wrist. It spreads toward the man's jugular and very slowly he himself begins to engulf in shadow. The ground
below him opens, like an evil maw of madness.

The Image of Aldric Essalus Helmfrid writhes in agony amongst the chaos. He tries to speak out in protest, glaring defiantly at Naz'aya
yet all that emerges from his mouth is a gargle of crimson fluid, to his horror.

The Image of Aldric Essalus Helmfrid rasps and splutters, struggling for his life. Achingly slowly he is engulfed into the dark abyss below,
helpless to his fate, thrashing in panic as he descends. Aldric's runeblade and torch lay upon the scorched ground, his wide-brimmed hat
left where he once stood. Wispy trails of shadow-smoke rise quietly from the ornately decorated hat.

The Image of Naz'aya Serpentine lets Aldric sink into the shadowrealm before snapping the snake back into her sleeve like it was measuring
tape. The abyssal portal closes over after Aldric, and she raises her fel green glance ahead - as if consciously staring into the council room.

[Faint Echo] Naz'aya Serpentine: People of Stormwind. I am not a cultist, nor am I a servent of another. I am Naz'aya Serpentine,
and more deaths alike this one will follow if you do not aknowledge me as your God. There is no mercy for heretics.

The Image of Naz'aya Serpentine gives a wide smile, picking up Aldric's hat and slowly placing it atop her head with delicate care. The illusion
of her body dissapates, detonating to a swarm of foul insects that take flight around the room, scratching, biting; going for faces.

((Wasn't there, but that stuff up there is well written. The use of quotes for the comments makes the text that much easier to read as well))

Thankyou Dwyburn. It went through a lot of iterations and tweaks through rehearsals today. Feel free to roleplay your character hearing of this if you wish (Freelancers are based in the Royal Libraries afterall, and news does travel fast!)

Wulf just explained to Dwy how illusions are all just trickery and scare tactics (to fuel the DARKSIDE). Poor Helmy isn't being taken seriously IC. Might keep at it though. Added another layer to the murder sprees and general eerie mood we've got going in Stormwind at the moment.

It was more of an illusory projection into the council of the fight being elsewhere. Arenfel explained that after it happened ICly

I would like to mention, before I get more rage whispers, that Wulf has no idea ICly that some-one was killed nor who it was making the Illusions. Dwyburn only mentioned illusions were seen at the council.

As Wulf said, neither Wulf nor Dwy were present at the event, and they've probably managed to come up with one of the worst explanations possible. IC is IC, no ill intent.

Why someone would get rage whispers because of that is beyond me.

Good to read about here though, for curious people like me who weren't present
