Re: [Issue]: Dark Reckoning Guild
Couldn't you guys just step back and say "Ah, we won't push on your territory, agree to disagree." yada yada. Can't force people to do things. Dark Reckoning, probably best if you back up a bit but there isn't a need for this thread. If we made a thread to name and shame every person who did a big no-no we'd have the equivalent to the bible in reading material.
You have to realise, Mr. Dharious that RP is a sensitive subject. You need to be empathetic to other people's RP and still enjoy your own. That is, if you want to RP with the majority (do what you like, but the breaking of unwritten rules creates this type of thread.) I'd suggest have your guild become more of a shrouded group that operates in the lowest depths of the Lamb and acts less shady to warlocks who come down there. If they start being curious and such, sure - hurt them by all means. But remember, people don't usually want to die. If they walked in on you and you told them to leave (whilst being in one of the crypts) and they ignored, by all means attack them. People need to learn consiquences for their actions and walking directly into a shifty looking group isn't the smartest thing to do.
But overall, don't make threads like these. They're seriously demoralising for the community and the people involved. Everyone does something wrong sometimes, these guys were clearly new and this all seems like the blame game. I know you gave your reasons for why it isn't and I'm sure it is all resolved now, but best to sort these between yourselves - even if you don't reach a resolution. One person being hated isn't a resolution (trust me, I've been through a similar thing recently and I had the urge to name and shame, but it feels better to be the bigger man!)

Holy shit, I only read the first page and didn't realise it had four out of tiredness.
Leaving? A bit melodramatic. Letting someone dishearten you to that point on an online game is pretty weak willed.

melodramatic? Perhaps, even tough my intention was not to cause pitty toward me from community.
Put a guild to a shame, right thing to do is to do what i did...So they would be able to continue their rp without any negative reputation which they don't have...We had so much guild chat about how we want to be respected in stromwind, sure goal is to be feared off,but not oocly (not feared that we will break rules and eventually be ignored) and so much talks that we want to rp by the book, but it is fairly hard to do so,...To be honest that guild meant to me more than my chars...
I did what i thought, what i still think is right, i will not try to get my chars back, and i see that many thing its not a big deal, i don't think so, it is rather big deal.
I will make new chars, it will take time to level them too, but by that time ill be better rper.

Right, RP has nothing to do with character levels, Dharious, get your toon back. I don't agree with this thread being made, while it's intention is good, it is what it is and it's quite a humiliation.
I am with Vaell on this one. Just take it easy with full fledged claims. You can hide down there, sure, but remember your actions have consequence and the killing of a character is -extremely- sensitive.

I almost helped cause a worgen revlot back in the day at the Pig and threw smokebombs all over the place and was slightly ignored by the regiment at the time. And thats a lot worse than this.
There isn't any guild that never had any bad rep or something bad happened.
The road in life(In this case Rp) is bumpy, if you fall from the mountain you get back up and when you climb it, you know you acomplished a lot more then if you climbed it only once and never fell. *Sagenod*

On a less sarcastic note, what's the problem? If a warlock group uses a place IC, then they'd have a motive to kill anyone who enters. So, he should probably have warned you and offered to retcon it instead of telling you he had permission to kill them.
But if you choose to stay, with the knowledge of the potential consequences, then you need to be prepared to accept them. Sure, you could maybe find a way to escape because your characters dying should never be forced. But if their characters want to keep you out, why shouldn't they? IC/OOC. If there characters would be capable of killing yours, maybe it's best to decide with them to retcon it when they warn you of it. Honestly, there's nothing more annoying than someone walking into your base, and you're forced to let them subdue your whole army to escape because they don't want their characters to die.
On that note, Kavalis just bought Stormwind Keep and anybody who enters are gonna be killed by his guards btw I have a key so you can't enter without metagaming you noobs.
The Slaughtered Lamb kinda already has an established lore-canonical ownership, and as such is not free to be claimed by anybody. Ofcourse, you could always assume that Dark Reckoning had just waltzed in there and -conquered the shit out of that place-. Which is something I'd assume the Stormwind officials would hear about, considering the fact that the warlocks' presence there is known by the King and they thus would be in no danger if they told Varian that "Hey dude, you know how we're being heretic down in that basement? Well some genuine evil people just moved in and gave us the boot."
No, you can't -own- the Slaughtered Lamb basement.

Dharious - get your mains back and carry on. Retcon actions you have done so far, I am sure the rp community actually affected by it will be willing to accept that maybe you made a mistake in things said and done.
No one is a perfect rp'er, we all screw up and make mistakes and we ALL were rp n00bs at one time (not saying you are, just that we all started some place )
You had a good strong idea for a guild, just maybe execution was a little heavy handed. *shrug* so what? You've picked up a few tips on how to roleplay and there has been quite the discussion on how your guild could fit in.
We don't want to lose roleplayers, we as a community should be supporting and encouraging those brave enough to start an rp guild and try to add to the diversity of rp in game.

I think we all need to take a step back and see that whilst the game and RP might lack vim and vigour; whilst our stories dwindle into dust and our imaginations stagnate, we need never fear.
For we all manage to create enough drama out of game every bloody day...
I think it's a very rash decision by Dharious. But it's his decision.
I think laying claim as ownership to any building or item in game is stupid.
I think telling others they will RP a certain way (because you say so) is also dafter than a barrel of monkeys.
I think this community can be about as communal and friendly as a kick in the gonads at times.

But still you knew I meant you! In my defence, I was hurriedly typing as I have to go out and I'm well known for my typos.
Grim..Gruff...all the same to me, you're still my favourite and have a special place on my stalker whiteboard in the basement.

Firstly the irony in that statement is bloody hilarious.
Secondly, if he doesn't want the characters back, then he doesn't have to get them back. Maybe he wants to start fresh after this lil' fiasco? Who knows? Hopefully we'll see him around eventually.

He should've informed you of the situation first, sure, and he was wrong to assume that he could kill your characters without permission, but if his character would want to stop your entering, why shouldn't he?
Even if the problem really was that bad, making a thread about a new guild to tell people of one incident with one member? Even if it wasn't the intention to ruin their reputation and upset their members, it was pretty damn obvious that it would happen.
Again. I'm glad for the lack of effort some people take by not reading through everything that has been posted.
And that those who deem themselves righteous are those that actually start to seem the most hostile.
This concerned the community as whole, stated by many others than myself. Nor has anyone forced him or his characters off the server, not one person.
Nor was there in any way any disagreement with the roleplay, which I personally stated. It was the OOCing & OOCInfo that I reacted to. I myself even said on several occasions now that one could solve it in many different ways, one doesn't have to resolve to killing.
So, again. Thank you, but I feel since people really can't behave. I'd like a Mod to lock this thread, and hopefully I'll catch their guild leader to hear his opinion.
