Leaving the server

I am leaving Defias Brotherhood for Argent Dawn. I doubt many will give a shit, but still, consider this my two weeks' notice! Obviously I will not transfer all my characters, since that will cost a small fortune. I will, however, be hardly active on whichever character I leave behind.

I want to extend my thanks to the people that have put up with me for the past few years. (you know who you are, no need to perform forum-fellatio)

I regret not having characters over on AD, with most of mine being Alliance - and having heard Alliance on AD is poor - I wish I had made characters there sooner! Have fun!

Never been to AD, so I don't have anything to say on the quality of the server...

Been on AD, and I'd say it's not so bad as it's told. Rule of thumb: before judging, take the time to really know things. Good luck there!

A shame you are leaving us, Gnash. But I hope you'll enjoy yourself there!

I've only seen good things of AD hordeside, in the time I've spent there.

Regardless, enjoy the game wherever you go. It'd be good to have you back sometime, but if not, enjoy yourself man.

I've explored Horde-side of both AD and DB and I too can safely say this whole "WAAH, AD STINKS"-thing tends to be a bit out of proportions, really. It's somehow become some kind of a taboo for some people to play on AD, the reason of which I can't really see as there's plenty of decent RP to be found as well.

Anyway, back on topic: Have fun.

There's not really a way to make an 'argument' on the matter, all I can say is that you probably had a lot more luck than I did in terms of what you found on AD

I remember my first and only AD visit back from 2006 consisting of someone immediately starting to harass/insult me through whispers, when my freshly made character logged into the world. Instead of making me feel bad, his/her actions made me feel more like "...the fuck?". Since then, I've mainly heard scary stories of how horrible it is, so I don't know the truth personally. Fortunately I don't have to, since I can't manage toons on other realms at all.

Yeah I moved my guild to a server once and got told by a guild there, within the first week, to change the lore of the guild that we had used for a number of years else they would turn the server against us because it didn't fit with their interpretation of lore.

Not the nicest of welcomes and it caused some upset within the officer team.

Not entirely sure if I'm reading too much between the lines or if I'm getting it right, but if the latter, icwutudidthar

Just making the point that no matter what server you go to, there will always be someone who doesn't like your rp.

I've played AD and found it no worse than Defias in all honesty. Main reason I stopped playing there is that without the pvp element of the world, it felt like half the game was missing.

So let the guy go join AD without tales of the woes received when you tried - fuck knows this server is no better.

I kinda like this server tbh Arli, better than that boring place we came from imo.
