Tried out your fix, Lex. it seemed to do the trick for me. Might have been the vertical synchronizing. Uncertain, but I know for sure that Tekkit is something I won't be without in the future =)

Just wanted to add a thank you from Minecraft Gelana the Angel. I logged last night and there were people on the server, got picked up by "Donald Duck" and taken to a place where I could build.
Along the way I got jailed, hit by lightening and saw my Ducky die painfully on a triple lightening bolt - Yes I had to giggle in real life.
I have begun a small house set into the cleft of a hill, there is snow all around and the water is frozen. Its awesome!
Once I complete the rooms in the ground below it I will begin setting things up for a small self contained bunker.
Yes there will be pics in due course and I will add them here.

I have been on the server for three days now and spoken to a number of admins/mods etc.

It seems this thread is not meant to be here, from what they have said no WoW players are on this server and they dont know why they keeping getting people joining a private server.

Is there a reason why their IP was made public like this when none of the people on the server play wow at all?

If it isn't listed as ''DefiasRP'' on the Multiplayer section it isn't the Defias one. Maybe you typed the IP wrong?

Yeah, not a lot of people on lately. Me, Praxan and Gilran have been discussing it and how to make the server popular again. I'll be making a post later today about it all.

What killed it for me was the fact that you wiped the server and removed EE. Even if you'd -just- removed EE I'd still have stayed cause then I wouldn't have to -remake my entire fucking castle-

Aye, I was told a lot of people got tired of it being reset three times. I don't know if it was indeed three or not but that would be a bit absurd and I could see why people would get tired of it. If it could be -assured- it wouldn't happen again I would be willing to help people re-build what they had, if it would make the place more populated again.

One could only hope so that there won't be another reset, but you never know, especially when it comes to servers. As for the populating the server again, I think we've came up to quite some good ideas that might attract people and entertain them!

So I've been on the server quite a lot lately and noticed a great lack of population. The most people I have seen online at one time was a mere five. I think it's a shame that the server is going to waste now and I'd like to try and mend it.

So I was told a lot of people just got sick of the third map change (I don't know if it has been three or not, ain't been on it for long) which is more then understandable. I'd be pretty damn tired of it too if my buildings kept going to waste. If it can somehow be guaranteed that it won't happen again, for instance the map files be saved and shared among several people to make sure they are not lost, I'd like to try and help people get back into it however I can. As I am already going to do for Lexgrad, I am willing to do for the rest.

I'll help people find ideal locations for their new homes/bases/towns etc, give them the resources needed and help constructing it as much as I can, so people aren't forced to slave away doing it all on their own again. Also events! I think it'd be good to do an event occasionally, perhaps with prizes, to encourage people to play more. Me, Gilran and Praxan thought of a couple possibilities, such as:

Mining Lazer fights/tournaments inside of specially constructed arenas, perhaps out of Obsidian(As the lazers cannot break obsidian) or simply with normal materials, allowing people to break the environment around them to try and gain advantages in the fight.

Mining competitions. Quite simple, find an un-touched, large area, and the participants just get digging. After a certain amount of time, say 20 minutes or so, they have to stop mining and come back to the surface, whoever has the most points of ores/minerals wins. For the 'points' we could simply use Equivalent Exchange values or come up with our on numbers, for instance some Iron could be two points, Redstone four points, Diamonds ten points, etc.

Building competitions! Put all the participants on creative, give them a certain area in which they can build, a set amount of time later others could vote on what building they believe is the best.

Campaigns! If the server got enough active members I believe campaigns/story driven events would be a great idea. They could revolve around stories and plots thought of by the community, involving different factions/companies lead by players. A large amount of stories are possible within the open world of Minecraft, as we shape the world as we want. Empires could go to war over old disputes, companies go to conflict over resources, bad guys/terrorists could want the world to burn, oppressive governments could have freedom fighters going rebelling, etc.

We need to get the hub city going and get some server Lore too, like in the coldlands

Dunno about the first two times, only reason I reset the server is because most people wanted it (as in, more than half the people on the server) and so we could be a bit closer together. Sorry if you aren't all pleased with it but I hope you can see it's hard for me to please everyone at once with it

The other reason was to remove EE and add Forestry since EE is just so ridiculously op compared to anything else in tekkit. We couldn't have done either of those things without a new map as the map would have fucked up pretty bad.

Oh, and I've been building a little something with a tenative idea to turn it into a special survival/building challenge of some sort. Not quite done yet though.

Well if most of the server wanted a restart but stopped playing after, I fail to see why they would've just quit. But meh, none the less we should attempt to re-populate the place. And don't worry at all Glil, you changed the map with a majority vote backing you up, you did exactly what mods should be doing, trying to please as many people as possible.

To your second post, that would be great. It'd be good to have several people working on such things to help get more people to be active.

Joined the server tonight and found a secluded bay to play with, I tend to dig down for a while till im sorted with mats then I build up and make a visible home.
Having said this, it means I prefer to not be helped as much because a lot of the fun is finding things to use.
I lot of server have a thing where you get portals to other worlds, you build in the main then farm mats in a second one, and a third is for pvp and or lore/games/mazes/spleefing etc.
What do you think of an idea like that?

I think its best just to have it all in the same world, honestly. No need to split us up any further, especially with the currently small population as it is.
