if you openly admit to roleplaying/playing WoW/spending a lot of time on the internet and/or gaming and are not called out on it in social situations, then you're either
1.) playing too much games and not speaking to much people
2.) have a friend circle consisting solely of other 'nerds'/gamers
3.) being spoken about and laughed at behind your back

I enjoy going out in the world. I enjoy meeting new people. Having the stigma of 'gamer' on you will make that a lot more challenging. People brand you and yeah, we could go and argue that those are the kind of people I don't want to 'associate' with

Thing is, I do like those people. I'm having loads of fun with them so I do give a damn (personally I don't mind not being associated with games/WoW/etc like corleth said )

Better to be honest about yourself and be outcast for it, than dishonest just so you can be accepted. Again, if they would judge you for it then they're assholes and aren't worth your time in the first place.

And I think maybe you guys are kinda exaggerating what would happen if people found out :p it's not like there's gonna be some kind of "negative aura" around you like a stinky smell or something if people knew you did so and so
