I'n wondering.. in your game, is anyone playing HRE? Or have you decided that no player should play that, just like noone should play the massive blue blop of death in EU 3.

I'm playing inside of HRE, but everyone started as Dukes and it's not yet 1100. Even if I'm on the bigger scale most likely gonna break out of it.

Right, just wanted to know if there was some power hungry person in the game that played as the big mean machine who'd mow everyone down. :3

The big mean machine that's had two civil wars (one that lasted close to ten years) and will likely soon have a third in less than 30 years? And if not for one of the most evil early game unions I've seen would have gotten (at least temporarily) split the first war?

That was in the hands of an AI, and history shows that they're not always great at controlling their country. I've seen what HRE can become when controlled by a capable player. Not as fearsome as the blue blob of death, but sure as hell something any other country wont be able to stop!

But anyhow, enough about them silly HRE.

The union between HRE and England needs to break. They are both too powerful as individuals.

One interesting thing I saw the HRE do in an SP game the other day was give in to the Tuscany independence league, no war, nothing, just let them go. (and they had fewer men then him too)

I categorically deny these rumors and whatnot. There is no valid reason to believe I am intending to usurp the Imperial throne. You need not build strong alliances nor do you need to build up your armed forces to defend against the Byzantine empire. By all means, put your money elsewhere and neglect your armed forces.
