The Gilnean Assembly

What is it?
The Gilnean Assembly is a representative body of the player base for the player by the player, it is a democratic body. It will consist of any and every Gilnean interested in joining and will welcome those ready to undertake an oath of allegiance to the people of Gilneas, the nation of Gilneas, the Assembly of Gilneas and the King of Gilneas, in this case being King Greymane.

How does it work?
The Assembly is unicameral, meaning that there is only one legislative chamber. There is one Speaker, and one secretary. Similar to an Athenian democracy, all will be able to partake in the politics of Gilneas. Both men and women must be twenty-one of age to be able to vote, but the younger will be able to attend a meeting. A lie about one’s age will have serious consequences.

The people enter the building, to attend the Assembly meeting. They either sit or stand, and give others the possibility to see and hear what is happening. Those that cannot stand must be seated first. As soon as the Speaker takes his/her seat, the meeting has started.
A hand will be raised, and the Speaker asks the person to state his/her name. The person will be addressed by the Speaker, whom will also ask what he wishes to discuss. The person proceeds to speak, opening with to be discussed topic. The discussion continues through the Speaker, and until the conversation has met its full potential. Once the discussion is concluded, the Speaker will summarise the topic, and the Assembly will vote if required.

It is most important that people respect their fellow person, and will address each other with utmost respect. The discussion must remain civil at all times.
If a person does not abide to common etiquette, such as raising a hand before speaking, or being quiet when the Speaker asks for silence, he/she will be asked politely to leave the building until further notice.

The Speaker of the assembly - Who is he/she?
The Speaker is an honorary and elected position within the assembly that handles the debating and discussion parts of the Assembly, not only this but the Speaker also counts and administers the votes, calling out the final vote in any referendum and also the decision made alongside it, the Speaker holds no vote to get rid of any opportunity of bias. The Speaker also names the person whom is allowed to speak; and all discussions are held through the Speaker, to prevent verbal abuse on another person. The Speaker is elected for a one month term by the Assembly, at the end of the month a discussion of evaluation is held and if the Speaker has had a flawless one month in the Assembly than he/she can stand for re-election and petition the members of the Assembly for their votes.

What role will the assembly play?
The role of the Gilnean assembly is simple, the assembly itself will draw on the Gilnean/worgen community to meet at least once a week and interact with each other, not only bringing the area the Assembly chooses to life, but also creating an environment for political role-play to flourish. The Gilnean Assembly will strive to be a multi-guild organization focusing on involving as many of the Gilnean population as possible, not only this, but the Assembly itself will work to serve as a focal point for organizing the Gilnean community into one formidable block.

The oath to of the Assembly:

I, < insert name > hereby swear to bind myself to the decisions of the Gilnean Assembly; I swear to uphold the decisions of the assembly. I pledge my allegiance to the Gilnean nation that the Assembly will represent, I pledge my allegiance to the King of Gilneas and as his loyal subject swear that through any effort possible, and all the strength I have, I will work to help rebuild Gilneas to its former glory.

Ambassadors are exempt from this

Wednesday, 25th of April, 20:30 CET (Realm Time).

Who?
Everybody is welcome - Professor Nakroth Fallstead will be the Speaker again.

How?
a) Take the flightpath to Chillwind Camp, Western Plaguelands, and travel to Gilneas.
b) Fly from Menethil Harbour to Glineas with a 310% mount.
c) Run the distance by ground or flying mount.
d) Conditional: summoned by a Warlock.

What?

Any discussions going for when and where the assembly would be held?
Would personally be very interested in attending my self.

We're currently looking in to a suitable location and a convenient time to hold the assembly.

As far as i've seen, Gilnean Rp is on the up and I commend the initiative here! I will be sure to attend and watch proceedings when you get up and running. Shall watch with great interest.

The meetings are most likely to be fortnightly, and either in Darnassus, Gilneas or Stormwind.
