I've got that very same BSc. And I don't recognise the term properly either.

Though it did just remind me about one phrase which always brought out my inner child. "ring strain". Hehe.

Good times were had with the part that micro organisms use to transfers plasmids. The Pilus. That it is also transfered only makes it more hilarious.

Like going to bed with a hot woman and then waking up with a "pilus" poking into your back.

and it's definitely the latter cause they really do suck big time!!!

What I find a bit ... shady and sneaky is how all the Edexcel examiners (maybe it's the same for other exam boards, I wouldn't know) all have text books and study guides on how to do better at their own exams, or at least with the subjects I take anyways ... that can't be right, can it?!?

Maybe we haven't heard about combinatorial chemistry because it's boring? Give me a nice HPLC or sum GC-MS anyday.

Still trying to figure out those life hacks, there are so bloody many of them.

But I have learned quite a bit about electronics. And how to hook up shit to solar and blue energy cells.

And there was that whole thing with statistics I had to learn.

... and how to stay calm when your hand is smoking because you spilt acid on it (didn't feel a thing).

Remember kids, playing with fire is a must.

One could also say we learn things to other people can have profit of them in real life. If you disagree you are challenged to live without any product of industrial/man made chemistry. That means hand over the plastic bitch.
