Re: The vent thread
Corleth, Thelos et al.
This might be the Vent thread but has happily made me think more about things that interest me.
It was the festival (or one of them?) of Sitala recently. The Hindu God(dess) of disease, pustules and sores.
Nice huh.
But she doesn't look much like Grandfather Nurgle.
Sitala
I love Hindu iconography. I just despise the Jātis/caste system.
So, there, I'm venting about the caste system. So this is on topic. Kinda.
(And, who is that dancing Corleth, remember I'm not a hipster like you . But I've been stuck with half the picture missing typing this message and just realised, i was just staring at the way her tits moved...)

Re: The vent thread
The caste system is a thing of the past ... most people in India don't give it any thought at all. My friend told me that the caste system is only really in place in the really rural and isolated places in India. There's loads of inter-caste marriages in India nowadays and nobody gives it any thought.
Except this one guy at my school who keeps going around saying Brahmins are great and his Aryan blood is pure and great ...

Things change, obviously (but I was trying to find something to vent about you cocksponge!).
But, having said that they change, "rural" India is still how many millions of people? So it is still a massive section of people.
So neenur.
(And now I can't see Corleth's boob jiggle ... just your stupid pokemon thing. DAMN YOU YOU SAND DWELLING HEATHEN!)

Re: The vent thread
This. This makes me cry and scream and...
I dunno.
I complain about the "bunker" at work. My tiny office. With barely any real light, and the same walls, for hours.
But your life for 40 years, a 9ft by 6ft "room". Buried alive in a concrete box. For a crime it is (very) likely they didn't commit (the murder, you don't do 40 in solitary for bank robbery).
I'm going outside to feel the sun on my skin as I walk home (ok, it's probably raining again...) because I can, and today I feel lucky to do so.
Maybe they could too, if only people had sense and humanity. What does it do to someone, 40 years in solitary...?
BTW: Guardian Website, might not work in all countries.

The American penal system is horribly designed and very flawed ... or at least so I can judge from watching Oz cough ... Going to give the documentary a watch later this week.
Makes you wonder if giving the death penalty is better than life in solitary confinement?

omfg .... my dad just told me that the freaking stupid ass government are threatening to take away my scholarship because apparently I'm not living up to their standards because APPARENTLY my 95% grade average is bad and a huge step down from my IGCSE 100% average because OF COURSE A levels and IGCSEs are on the same level
absolutely ridiculous .... especially since there are literally loads of other people I know on a 75% average with BETTER scholarships than the one I have only because their parents are friends/brothers/cousins/second cousins/brother-in-law's-second-twice-removed-dog's-owner's-brother of somebody in some middle management position in the ministry of higher education
so close to just going all jihad on them!!! %#(P%&@%

To be honest, I don't see the need for correction.

No, Tso. Hitler killed the joke before it became mainstream.

Re: The vent thread
Ugh, I'm having a discussion on another forum about Israel/Palestine. Quite a good discussion, actually, but god damn it I'm seriously annoyed that whenever I bring up an Advisory Opinion of the Court (it has precedential value, not to mention that the Court has interpreted the law) the counter-argument is "Well, it's just an opinion and not binding. No legal rights either."
How difficult is it to realize that its value resides not in how binding it is, but in its precedential value (to the Court and the world at large). Not only that, but the law contained therein is binding.
Not to mention when I bring up juristic writings to back up my point that the right of self-determination is a norm of jus cogens. Ugh.

College isn't university.
You should let the guilt-trip flow freely, young grasshopper.
"You do not want to give me the possibility to develop as a person, and want to confine me to this small-minded world?"
Luckily I never have to use dirty lines like those with my parents.

It's a matter of establishing your right to your parents. And not to fear consiquence.
I've been slammed (no idea why she tilted her hand so it wasnt a slap) across the face by my mother, after that. They've never really argued with me.

Parents are all different. Mine resort to physical violence when verbal abuse doesn't work. No amount of standing up to them will change that.

I believe it does, if one does it at the right time and age, before it goes on too long.
Like 16-17ish. That's when I did it. And if they do resort to physical violence. The law is always in YOUR side.

Just push forward for what you want. They can do all they want to keep you in the UK, but you're not going to if it's the opposite of what you want.
And believe me, it all tends to get better when you leave anyway. I know my relationship with my parents vastly improved when I left home.
