The Rotty Tales
Lost in the Woods
It was late afternoon in Tirisfal. Rötger had gotten himself into a part of the forrest which he had not been before. He climbed up on a hill in order to orientate himself, the trees were large and made it impossible to see far. Though between the leaves and branches of a large tree, something shiny was hidden. Rötty decided to examine the shining, and with a determined and possibly naive jump he landed on the ground, only a few feet away from his target. A hurl of wind crept through the woods, making the forrest seem like a ghastly place. As Rötty approached the object, which had been covered with even more leaves because of the wind, a spiderling crept out from the nearby tree and sprinted through the woods. Rötty began singing one of his own songs to himself, and not a very patriotic one. He calmy removed the branches, mold and dirt to uncover what he had seen. The shine seemed to have come from a metal plate. “What are you doing all the way out here?” he pondered. He would have to dig to free the entire metal plate, a proffesional blacksmith like himself can always make use of free supplies. He uncovers the enitre plate, it was revealed to be a breastplate. As he continued digging he removed the dirt around it, and it was not empty.. As he digs, it is revealed that a dead man with the entire Lordaeron Armor on. This is a rare sight in Tirisfal. Most of the old armors of Lordaeron had been melted and reforged for the Scourge.
With a few attempts Rötger finally got the corpse free and pulled it up. He knelt down to the corpse to unstrap the armor. Suddenly it’s eyes opened and the corpse was alive, it gave a great yawn and grapped Rötger by his arm and tried to pull him down while biting widly towards him. After a struggle, Rötger got free and fell backwards and with bum first onto the ground. The zombie stood up and charged towards Rötger, who barly dodged the attack.
Rötger and the zombie stared at eachother, waiting for the oppentent to attack first. As the old saying goes, “The first one to attack, is the first one to run out of ideas”. Rötger was about to pull up his sword, as he remembered that he had strapped it onto his horse on the other side of the hill. The fully armored zombie noticed and leaped towards towards him. He was knocked to the ground with a zombie wildly trying to claw him. Rotty could only defend with one hand while trying to find an object to use with the other.
And with a rock directly to the monsters face, he was able to knock it off him and began running around the hill to reach his trusted steed. With the zombie right behind him he had to jump towards his horse and quickly kick it in the sides to make it run, but the zombie was not slow and was able to follow the steed and jump onto its side, desperatly klinging itself while the steed galloped through the forrest. Rotty was not able to reach his sword as it was on the same side of the horse as the zombie. He did his best to try and shake it off while navigating through the woods.
Rotty saw an opputunity to defeat the zombie, and thus he got his horse to turn left, getting them close enough to a tree for the zombie to be smashed and not themselves. As the zombie was crushed Rotty got his steed to slow down and rode back to the dead body of the zombie.
He dismounted and gave the horse a pat on the shoulder before examining the remains. The armor was very damaged, but Rötger saw an oppututiy to repair it and thus wear the same as the protectors of Lordaeron! To honor the soldiers who fought for the Kingdom and to do the same in the true colors.
