"Third gender" is actually covered by the T already. The T more accurately refers to transgender (which is not the same thing as transsexual). Transgender refers to all kinds of classifications that go beyond the standard two-gender system. Thus, transsexual goes in there, but also cross-dresser, androgyne, bigender, and genderqueer. I believe pansexuality would be included in there as well.

The term gender actually can have any number of things, since gender is the societal construct (while sex is the physical). There are plenty of cultures that have had more than two genders.

Jins (or jinaas?) means sex (as in hanky panky) or gender I think, and if you want to call somebody gay, the proper way is to say "jins al thaalith" as in "third sex", or just jins ... or khaneeth :D which means uuh ... a very effeminate guy. For butch girls or lesbians, you say boya which comes from English probably

Djinn (jin) is like this really super cool "extra" species of sentient beings in Islam that are made of like smokeless fire and can walk through walls. They live in our bathrooms. They can see us too D: Afaik Aladdin genies aren't really related to jinn but ... I can't be sure.

And sorry, yes, I meant sex, not gender. I feel kinda silly now for mixing those two up, especially considering all the documentaries I've seen on the subject lol ... There isn't a separate word for gender and sex or sexual intercourse in Arabic, I think. I don't know how other societies perceive gender roles outside the Gulf region, but here people only really see two gender roles and they're the traditional man/woman ones.

Oh, parents had another chat. They're concerned a therapist might not think I'm "girly enough", because I wasn't one of those people as a child who played with barbies all the time, and am nothing like my female cousins. Want me to see if I'm gay first >.>
Kinda annoyed, but hopefully i can prove I'm definitely Trans to them. And I got hugs from them today

I can understand how it might be frustrating and annoying, but they're really just concerned about you and clearly care about you a lot because they're going through so much trouble to try and help you Smile

I'd say go see the therapist anyways since you will still benefit from seeing one probably. Having them join you as well for a later session to clarify things for them from a "professional" source would help clear up any misconceptions as well so ya Smile

They've let me go to the LGBT Youth Scotland groups on Wednesday and every other tuesday to just explore and get support :3
We're not doing too much since my exams are in a few months, lots of work to do. But once they're over lots of stuff gonna happen.

Not sure how it works over there, but it'll most likely be a requirement to see a therapist anyway in order for you to get put on HRT.

Even if your parents might not understand it, your therapist most likely will be able to understand you're trans, not gay.

That being said, be sure to research your therapist before you go. Talk to your LGBT Youth Group, they should be able to provide you with some safe options for therapists/doctors. Find one that has a proven track record of tolerating and working well with LGBT individuals.

Ya, this is pretty important. Some doctors can be complete dickheads sometimes. I know this probably won't be as common in the UK (or maybe it is up north in Scotland?), but I remember once talking to a doctor here while volunteering who refused to see or even treat one of his patients because he was HIV positive and gay. He basically ridiculed him and I think he might have reported him to the ministry too (if you're not a Kuwaiti national, you get deported for being HIV positive and if you're a Kuwaiti national, you used to be put into forced quarantine at the infectious disease hospital here but I think they might have changed that now. They do inform all your friends and family though and basically everyone in the entire world knows about your condition afterwards.)

Yeah, doctors don't really do that as far as I know.
Although my doctor was very ignorant last time I went. More interested in getting me checked out for mental problems.

I don't know if they've done this yet or not, but I recall the NHS or something considering to open LGBT clinics in the UK, or at least in England? I dunno just throwing that out there :p
